Book A Hotel

If a quiet, crowd-free beach in the Caribbean sounds like the perfect getaway, our luxury travel experts have come up with some inspirational suggestions for the ultimate blissful Caribbean escape.

Vieques, Puerto Rico

Vieques, in the northeastern Caribbean, is part of the Spanish Virgin Islands. Vieques and has a rustic feel. The Island was previously used by the United States Navy as a bombing range and testing ground, but since the navy’s departure in 2003, this land has become a national wildlife refuge. The beaches here have the reputation of being among the top beaches in the Caribbean for their azure-colored waters and white sands.

St Barts

The little island of St Barts is known to attract the rockstar glitterati. It is easily the most exclusive of the Caribbean Islands and comes with a distinctly French flavor.

Stay at Le Sereno, an intimate beachfront hotel and spa, combining simplicity, elegance, and five-star service in 37 suites and three spacious villas all overlooking Grand Cul de Sac, the bite-shaped cove on the eastern coast. Here, natural materials and linens contrast with dark woods that offset the spectacular views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea. 80% of their rooms are beach-front rooms, and all are situated at sea level as well as the restaurant, spa, and gym. Three unique Sereno Villas also grace the grounds with 3 bedrooms each, stunning views, and private pools. The views are pure Caribbean: turquoise bays and low hills dotted with houses the color of sugared almonds.

The beaches on St Barts are peaceful, pristine, and white sand. There are no crowds here as the prices are so high. Unspoiled, exclusive beaching is what this island is all about.

Dominica

Dominica is a completely different island from the Dominican Republic. Known as “The Nature Island”, most of this gorgeous island is covered in tropical rainforest scattered with glorious waterfalls. This means that it rains quite a lot, but the wildlife and hiking are unmatched by any other Caribbean Island. Trek to the Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Falls, and Victoria Falls and snorkel Champagne Reef with geothermal activity that makes the water bubble like a bath.

Dominica is not known for its luxury hotels, and Rosalie Bay resort is about as luxury as it gets on this beautiful island. In a rainforest setting, this upscale ecolodge overlooks the Atlantic and is just 9 km from the Central Forest Reserve, 10 km from the geothermally heated Boiling Lake, and 42 km from Douglas-Charles Airport. There’s also an outdoor pool, as well as a spa and a gym, plus eco-activities and direct access to a black-sand beach.

Turks & Caicos

It is no secret that Aman Resorts is one of our favorite luxury hotel brands and Amanyara is certainly one of the best luxury hotels in the world. You can also read our review of Aman Canal Grande Venice and take a look at Amanera in the Dominican Republic.

You will find some of the best beaches in the world on Turks and Caicos Islands and Amanyara resort is located along the pristine reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park, acclaimed for some of the world’s best wall and reef diving. As you would expect from an Aman hotel, Amanyara feels ultra-exclusive and offers a slick escape of silvery-topped pavilions, chic teak terraces, and shaded loungers centered on a huge infinity pool designed using volcanic rock with a conical bar. The overall feel is Asia in the Caribbean with a Zen and peaceful feel, many miles away from the jolly and colorful resorts on islands like Jamaica.
