Delta will be replacing its older longer-haul domestic fleet with some brand new Airbus A220s, which will go into service in 2019.

This weekend was the final flight testing for this plane, and happily, it passed with flying colours and “successfully landed” at around 4:00 pm local time on Canadian soil.

Of course, passengers will not notice a great deal of difference between the old and the newer planes, but I am a big fan of new planes as they usually sport the latest in stylish cabin design and feel cleaner and more modern than dated planes. They are, of course, more environmentally friendly too.

Delta remains one of our favourite American carriers, overall appearing to care slightly more about passengers and slightly less about the accountant’s bottom line. We have compared Delta vs. United vs. American Airlines in more detail.

Suffice to say, new planes are always good to know about, and new planes from one of America’s best airlines are even better news.
