Book A Stay

When you visit the historic island of Malta, why not stay in the beautiful city of Valletta, packed with museums, palaces, and grand churches. Stay in 19 Rooms, a stunning five-star urban boutique hotel that has recently opened and is already creating a buzz.

Location

19 Rooms is tucked in the heart of the tiny capital of Malta, Valletta. Malta lies in the Mediterranean, between Sicily and the North African coast; close enough to mainland Europe to make it perfect for a weekend getaway but far south enough to almost guarantee wall-to-wall sunshine. The historic walled city was established in the 1500s on a peninsula by the Knights of St. John. Admire the baroque landmarks like St. John’s Cathedral with its opulent interior and home to the Caravaggio masterpiece ‘the beheading of Saint John’. Visit the Renzo Piano-designed City Gate, Parliament Building, and Opera House.

You are central to everything, near to the sea, near to all the main sites and a very short walk to lots of bars and restaurants. Malta International Airport is just over 3 miles from the hotel, so you’re looking at a very short transfer!

Style & Character

The hotel is housed in a 300-year-old palazzo. The building itself has been given a huge dose of tender loving care with a major renovation project. No expense was spared, and the attention to detail was obsessive, but the result was a strikingly beautiful but very down to earth boutique hotel. The interior is contemporary, funky, and chic, with the feel of an exclusive urban hideaway. There is a peacefulness about the place. It’s surprisingly quiet, considering how near to the center you are.

Service & Facilities

When you head back to your hotel after a day soaking up the sights up Valletta or enjoying one of Malta’s gorgeous beaches, relax in the internal courtyard come lounge and chill out area; there are comfy armchairs, shelves packed with interesting reads and you can enjoy a coffee, a snack, some tunes and they’ll even light the fire in the fireplace on cooler days.

There are lots of little extras laid on to make your time there super easy; there’s complimentary Wi-Fi, if you have a hire car, you can use a public car park outside the city for free, and they provide beach towels so you can have that bit more room in your suitcase, there’s a fab munchies tray in your room, and there’s also an excellent reservation service so you can book tours, activities, and restaurants all through the hotel. The service is quite simply impeccable; welcoming, warm, and very hospitable, you’ll wish for nothing.

Rooms

All the rooms are spacious, beautiful spaces with original stone walls, a minimalist look, and small splashes of color to continue that funky vibe. Mod Pods are the smallest room, and Superooms are the next size up, but for discerning travelers, you really have two choices. There’s the Duplex, as the name suggests, spread over two floors with a living room, kitchenette, and traditional Maltese balcony. Then there’s the Penthouse; quite simply the best room in the house, it also includes a kitchenette as well as heavenly sea views from your balcony. Alternatively, there are two self-catering apartments with their own private entrance.

Food & Drink

Start the day with a delicious combination of a complimentary coffee and croissant. You are really spoilt for choice in the area for bars and restaurants, but it’s definitely worth including a trip to Trabuxu Bistro and Wine Bar in your choices. It is owned by the same people as 19 Rooms and is located just 700 meters from the hotel. Tuck into a quality, seasonal menu of fresh fish, meat, and pasta at the bistro and enjoy a delectable wine list with a standout cheese selection to match at the wine bar.
