How do I earn Amex Membership Rewards points?
You earn Membership Rewards points from Centurion, Platinum, Gold, Green American Express consumer cards and their equivalent Corporate and Small Business charge cards. The earnings rate is usually 1 point for every £1 GBP or $1 USD spent on the card, depending on where you are based.
How Do I Get The Best Value Out Of My Amex Rewards?
In general, you can get a much better value out of your Amex Rewards by converting them to Airline miles and spending them on flights, than by using them on hotel stays or for Amex products and vouchers such as spend on Amazon. Rewards spent on Amazon will net you around £0.005 GBP or $0.005 USD/Reward point. You should be aiming for £/$0.01 USD-0.02 from your Amex Rewards by using them on flights depending on the airline. I convert my own American Express Rewards over to British Airways.

These transfer at a great ratio, BUT I would not transfer my Amex Membership Rewards points to Hilton beause there are several versions of Amex Hilton cards that earn Hilton points so they are very easy to earn elsewhere. I would rather transfer my American Express Membership Rewards points to one of the airline programs.
Starwood Preferred Guest Program (Remember SPG points can be converted to Marriott Rewards on a 1:3 basis)
1000 Membership Rewards points = 500 Starpoints®.

Minimum transfer amount: 1000 points.
These transfer at a great ratio, BUT I would not transfer my Amex Membership Rewards points to SPG because the Starwood American Express card earns 1 point per £1 GBP or $1 USD spent (depending on where you are based) which is double what the Gold Card earns. Again I would rather transfer my American Express Membership Rewards points to one of the airline programs.
You can transfer your UK Amex Rewards into Club Eurostar at the ratio of 15 points to 1 Eurostar mile.
