Book A Stay

To immerse yourself in the exotic world that is Marrakech in Morocco, you simply have to stay in a traditional Riad in the old town; Dar Habiba is a British owned Riad and exactly this and more than meets its brief.

Location

It would be hard to find a better location to stay in Marrakech, you are literally minutes from the main Marrakech Square at the very heart of the Medina (old town). Dar Habiba is located within the old Jewish district, known as the Mellah and are well placed to explore the sights, sounds and smells of the Souks or markets and Jemaa el Fnaa, the main square.

Style & Character

An oasis of calm and tranquillity awaits you at Dar Habiba which contrasts very nicely with the hustle and bustle outside. The traditional Riad is beautiful, it centres around an unusually large and airy courtyard at the heart of the whole riad; the perfect spot to sit in the sun or shade, read a book, sip a chilled beverage and watch the birds drinking from the fountain.

Service & Facilities

The communal areas at Dar Habiba are really quite something; the courtyard also features a small dipping pool just right for perching on the side and dangling your feet – don’t miss it by night either as it’s totally magical by candlelight. There’s also a lounge with an open fireplace which is extra-cosy on chilly evenings, but the real gem is hiding on the rooftops; a stunning roof terrace which will become your very favourite place – come in the day and bask in the Moroccan sunshine on a lounger, at sunset to admire the epic vistas and by night to soak up the sounds of Marrakech coming from Jemaa el Fnaa.

The service that you will receive is perhaps best demonstrated by translating the name; the word ‘habiba’ means close friend in Arabic and at Dar Habiba the aim is for visitors to arrive as guests, but leave as friends. The owners pride themselves on all those little, personal finishing touches that really make your stay here special and memorable. You are given a much-needed complimentary map of the old town but it’s their app that you’ll become addicted to! The ‘Marrakech Riad Travel Guide’ app works on iOS and Android and becomes your very valuable companion. They are also happy to arrange excursions or furnish you with restaurant tips and even offer you the loan of a local pay-as-you-go mobile so you can stay in touch with your English-speaking host; extra-useful if you get lost as you’re supposed to in the maze of streets in the Marrakech Souks! Despite its luxuries and this impressive service, Dar Habiba offers impressive value for money.

Rooms

The Riad is wonderfully intimate with just six beautiful ensuite guest rooms; each is unique and individually named. My favourite has to be Kouba, although it’s not the largest room, this delightful mini-suite has a spectacular dome in the bedroom, as well as a cosy sitting area tucked down a little flight of stairs; quintessentially Marrakech and very beautiful.

Food & Drink

The wonderful service extends to the food and drink; you can enjoy unlimited mint tea, breakfast is served at a time that suits you and delicious evening meals are prepared upon request so any tastes or dietary requirements can be accommodated.
