Book A Hotel

I think it’s pretty awesome when the hottest must-visit London restaurant also offers something rather unique with a promise that you’ll leave feeling virtuous and generally great about yourself! Redemption Bar in London serves up seriously delicious 100% vegan, wheat and refined sugar-free meals alongside an alcohol-free bar. While I love a glass (or two!) of wine, I don’t love that feeling of being bloated, tired and generally like my body is rejecting all the toxins I’m throwing at it; Redemption Bar takes away the temptations and lets you have a night out but a night off.

Location

There are currently two locations in Notting Hill and Shoreditch; although with the buzz and popularity they are experiencing we doubt it’ll be too long before the nation demands more Redemption Bars! The Notting Hill restaurant can be found at 6 Chepstow Road, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Notting Hill Gate, Westbourne Park or Royal Oak tube stations and the Shoreditch restaurant is at 320 Old Street, less than 5 minutes’ walk from Old Street underground station.

Style & Character

Redemption Bar was the brain child of two female entrepreneurs: Catherine Salway, who has a background in business at Virgin; and Andrea Waters, an experienced restauranteur, vegan and raw chef. The idea came when they pondered the question: why should socialising always be at the expense of your health? And the answer now is it clearly doesn’t have to be!
Their rather fabulous motto is to ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself’ and their ethos is rooted firmly in caring for the planet, its animals, and ourselves. It’s not just your body that thanks you for your visit, you can feel good about your choice too as they are so socially responsible; they use palm plates and biodegradable packaging, source the highest quality fresh ingredients locally, have a zero-waste policy and aim for a zero or positive environmental footprint.

Service & Facilities

The service is exceptional and reliably consistent and the restaurants have a lovely atmosphere. The chefs at Redemption Bar are also available to cater your next event and keep an eye out for their special events; their Mediation & Brunch sessions are very popular and they also run yoga retreats.
There is a real buzz about Redemption Bar and it’s no exaggeration to say it’s the hot place to be seen currently; Helmsley + Helmsley have recommended them as one of the world’s best healthy restaurants in Conde Nast Traveller – just make sure you book!

Food & Drink

Veganism is more than just the latest craze and has now firmly established itself as a healthy alternative that is increasingly becoming a mainstream choice. Redemption Bar firmly responds to this and also responds to the growing trend for an alcohol-free lifestyle. The regularly changing menus are exciting and designed for maximum nutrition and taste. They love the challenge of converting a sceptical meat-lover and do it with style, grace and flavour!

The pulled pork is a must-try, it’s simply astonishing when you realise it’s made of jackfruit, the flavour is exceptional and it really shreds! Aubergine “bacon” pancakes are another top recommendation, with that delicious combination of sweetness and saltiness. Just make sure you leave a space for the raw desserts, the bliss balls are to die for and shockingly are only made with 3 ingredients, plus the mocktails are amazing and the vegan hot chocolate is out of this world!

These restaurants are basically like a sanctuary away from temptation and toxins to give your body and soul the chance to properly repair while at the same time still being a really fun environment which serves totally yummy food!
