Book A Stay

Love Skiing? Love Whistler? Us too, but a long stay or even a weekend break at one of the luxury hotels in the area can drain your bank balance. What if I told you that you could enjoy Whistler with all its surrounding mountain activities without the extortionate price tag to match?

Pangea Pod Hotel is a boutique pod hotel located right in the centre of Whistler’s iconic pedestrian-only village, with all the convenience and some of the privacy of a hotel room.

Expect a bit of luxury in Pangea Pod Hotel’s unique and uber-modern pods, which are just a couple minutes stroll from Whistler Blackcomb’s gondolas. This designer pod accommodation is affordable, central, and social. It’s a hub where guests can meet like-minded travellers, enjoy an espresso or craft beer in the Living Room, but still have their own personal space at the end of the day.

Each pod is stylish with clean, crisp white bedding, natural wood outer pod and lots of useful facilities within the pod; a mirror, shelves, charging station, USB port and storage for your laptop.

Beyond the suites, containing the pods, and The Living Room, Pangea’s stylish lounge/bar/cafe area, are two additional areas that are rather special. There is a miniature version of The Living Room on the third-floor rooftop patio, where there’s a small rooftop bar, standing counter and sensational views over the pedestrian-only Village Square. Relax on the rooftop in the summer and experience gorgeous sunsets with cold beers, or make your way up in the winter for hot chocolate with a dash of Baileys.

The Toy Box is Pangea’s open-plan ski-and-snowboard secure storage area with space for everyone’s gear during the ski season. There’s no need to reserve them in advance – just bring a lock or purchase one from the shop at the reception. You can use the same cable-tie that locks your equipment to concurrently hang and secure your wet outer shell.

The same space morphs to provide secure storage for your bike during the spring and summer seasons (you’ll need just a lock). Since there are only a limited number of bike racks, you’ll need to reserve one in advance for a small fee.

The creators of Pangea describe it as “Chic, Shared and Central. Proximity and privacy without the price tag. I personally believe that this is only the start of this new kind of accommodation in Whistler, a place to meet other like-minded travellers, to relax and share stories but still have your own personal space and a bit of luxury at the end of the day.

Draw your Pod curtain and escape to your own private space at the end of a big day on the mountains. Stay an extra day, week or month – the Pangea Pod Hotel is affordable and just what I have been waiting for in the vibrant Whistler Village.
