Book A Stay

There can be few easier holidays when travelling with kids than staying all inclusive; and an easy time of it means less stress for everyone, more relaxation and more fun! This is certainly the order of the day at Sunscape Bávaro Beach Punta Cana, a luxurious, all-inclusive resort in the beautiful Dominican Republic, whose motto is Unlimited-Fun®.

Location

The resort is situated on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, on El Cortecito Beach, often called the Heart of Bávaro. This is a popular tourist area with lots to do locally, the resort have a range of excursions available to make it easy for you to make the most of your visit; swim with dolphins, take a day trip to the capital city of Santo Domingo, or to Los Haitises National Park, or with younger children, go sailing on a pirate ship! El Cortecito is one of the most stunning beaches in the Dominican Republic and you can take advantage of a wide range of water-based attractions here including: racing speedboats, catamaran sailing, party boats, deep sea fishing, snorkelling cruises and whale watching. The resort is just 25 minutes away from Punta Cana International Airport; British Airways flies here direct from London Gatwick in just over 9 hours or direct flights from New York take less than 4 hours.

Style & Character

The resort has a relaxed, luxury, beachy-vibe with beautiful, well-kept grounds and, of course, stunning views of the Caribbean oceans.

Service & Facilities

The facilities are first-class and the entertainment team really add to your experience; there are four pools, the beach, a fitness centre, a golf course nearby, a huge list of sports both in the water and out, and an on-site PADI-certified dive centre. While the kids are enjoying themselves at the kids and teens clubs, book into the Sunscape Spa by Pevonia® for a facial or massage; several of the cabin treatment rooms connect and there’s a couples cabin with a whirlpool, then afterwards complete your relaxation in the sauna, steam room, cascade pool and therapeutic showers; and finally collect the children! In the evenings, the entertainment team really excel. there’s an impressive theatre, a music lounge and they even show big screen movies on the beach. You also benefit from access to the next-door resort, the Sunscape Dominican Beach, and can make full use of their facilities too.

Rooms

The resort has 452 rooms and suites each with a private balcony or terrace offering magnificent tropical and ocean views. There are connecting rooms available which are excellent for travelling families. I’d definitely recommend an upgrade to the ‘Sun Club’ so you are entitled to the more exclusive services; room service, larger rooms, an upgraded mini-bar, a lounge, three private bars and more. The Sun Club rooms also have a private whirlpool; you can opt for a tropical gardens view or an ocean view, personal preference of course but I struggle to resist a sea view!

Food & Drink

Delectable dining is available at over 15 restaurants and bars. There’s something for everyone; kid-friendly menus, buffets, international à la carte restaurants, a beach grill, a café, beach bars, swim-up bars and my personal favourite: an elegant, intimate, adult-only wine cellar. Although all-inclusive this is a luxury resort, so there’s no faffing about with wrist-bands and no reservations are required; basically, everything is included, food and drink, which makes your life super-easy; exactly how a holiday should be in my book!
