Book A Stay

A tranquil, idyllic hideaway awaits at Pousada Mangabeiras, an exclusive 12-acre property surrounded by untouched Atlantic rain forest, set high above the beach on the island of Boipeba in Brazil.

Location

The Pousada can be found on the hillside at the end of the beautiful Boca da Barra beach, where the Inferno river meets the Atlantic Ocean. Boipeba itself offers the tranquillity of a fisherman’s village with 20km of white sandy beaches and lies next to the famous and crowded Morro de São Paulo. Traveling to Boipeba is an adventure in itself, from Salvador, you can take an air taxi in just 30 minutes or take a speed boat from Graciosa for a more native arrival. Flights from London to Salvador generally take over 13 hours with a connection. Excitingly you are met as soon as you land on the island. As there are no cars, they will show you the way during the 15-minute stroll along the beach.

Style & Character

Here the style and character can be found in the natural beauty that surrounds you and in the peace of the island. As there are no cars on Boipeba, the pace of life adjusts wonderfully. Boipeba’s incredible ocean views greet you, and stunning flora and fauna, including coconut palms, cashew trees, orchids, ferns, and lots of birds, all make this tropical paradise their home. The wonderful scent of flowers follows you as you explore the resort. Inside is perfectly complimented by life outside; a luxurious, simple, warm mood is created with exposed woods and a calming palette of terracotta and oranges.

Service & Facilities

The facilities include a stunning, large swimming pool with a wooden deck alongside and ocean views. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort. There is a games room, a library and room service is also available. The spa offers massage and acupuncture treatments, the perfect way to unwind at the beginning of your stay and get yourself firmly on Boipeba time. Of course, the beach is accessible from the resort. A meandering staircase takes you directly to the white sands or take the funicular down or maybe save it for the warm journey home back up through the jungle! The hospitality is wonderful here; warm, friendly, inviting. They will help to arrange whatever activities that you wish to take part in during your time here and are on hand with suggestions if you’re not sure what takes your fancy.

Rooms

You can choose either a 38m2 Special Bungalow or a 43m2 Master Bungalow. Both include a king-size bed, air conditioning, mini-bar, 32 inch LCD TV with DVD and SKY HD channels, electronic safe, minibar, telephone, and solar-heated water. However beautiful it is inside, it’s outside that you’ll be wanting to spend all your time. The charming veranda includes a hammock perfectly positioned to make the very most of the breathtaking ocean view. The Master Bungalows, as well as offering a little more space, also include a hydro-massage whirlpool bath, perfect for creating a little extra romance in a very romantic setting.

Food & Drink

The restaurant serves delicious and beautifully presented regional and international dishes, with a menu that changes daily that is all made with local ingredients. The wine list is delectable and soft music accompanies your meal. The breakfast is notable here; locally made, authentically Brazilian, very generous, and incredibly tasty. There is also a bar, perfect for a pre-dinner drink or to relax after your food. If you wish to dine outside of the Pousada, a short stroll along the beach takes you to the local village, where a choice of restaurants awaits.
