For a holiday with a difference; an exotic, deserted location with lots to see and do, or the option to simply relax and soak up your surroundings, the Masira Island Resort on Masira Island, Oman’s largest island is unlikely to be quite like anywhere that you’ve visited before.
Location
Masira Island lies 15km off the southeast coast of Oman and appears like a jewel amid the azure waters. This is a little-known adventure travel hotspot with kite-surfing, sport fishing, diving, and snorkeling among the most popular activities. The island is known for its wildlife and miles of isolated sandy beaches as well as being famous for its turtles – it has the largest population of Loggerhead Turtles plus four of Oman’s nesting species of turtles. The island can be reached via ferry from Shannah; direct flights from London to Muscat take only 7 and a half hours and then a 4-hour drive brings you to the port of Shannah.
Style & Character
The beautiful boutique resort is set right on the beach with little surrounding it other than the sea views which makes it feel wonderfully exclusive. Inside it is luxurious and classy and looks very authentically Omani.
