Book A Stay

A luxurious, contemporary treat awaits in the very popular Algarve with Conrad Algarve.

For a family break in the sunshine, few locations can rival the Algarve; stunning beaches for the whole family to enjoy, idyllic scenery and endless golf courses so that the parents can have a break too! Why not make your stay there that little bit more comfortable and stay in the very luxurious Conrad Algarve. With direct flights from London to Faro in Portugal in under 3 hours, this is easily long weekend territory, though personally I’d recommend going for a little longer as you really won’t want to leave. The hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport so you’ll be lazing in the sun before you know it.

Hotel

The Conrad Algarve is a stunning building, designed to resemble an 18th century palace, it certainly has a feeling of grandeur. The facilities are great too; private balconies in every room, an award-winning spa, a signature restaurant from world renowned chef Heinz Beck, swimming pools, a fitness centre and outdoor tennis court. There are also a range of meeting and event spaces for business or pleasure. You are situated in Quinta do Lago, a short drive from outstanding golf courses and from those stunning sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The quality is the service is matched perfectly to the quality of everything else; it’s first-class – the staff are attentive, friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Rooms

The 154 rooms and suites are beautiful; dressed in a very on-trend palette of greys (my favourite!) they feel contemporary and calming. Technology is important here so it’s great for gadget-fans! A 37-inch HD TV, an entertainment and media centre, a DVD player, Wi-Fi and an MP3 sound system are all standard. All rooms offer private balconies, king-size or twin beds, Nespresso coffee machine, fully stocked bar, air-conditioning, marble bathroom with rain shower and separate bath tub, plus luxury bath products, cotton bathrobes and slippers. But for opulence personified, check-in to the 300 m² King Roof Garden Suite; a private infinity pool, breath-taking views of the hotel grounds and countryside, your own private entrance and an exclusive bridge to the hotel spa and roof garden, a private sauna, steam bath, oh and not forgetting butler service – this surely has to be the most superior way to travel.

Restaurants & Bars

Well, you are totally spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink. The flagship restaurant is Gusto by Heinz Beck and offers the finest steak and seafood with innovative flavours, plus there’s an amazing view thrown in and a very sophisticated ambiance; it’s certainly one not to miss. All-day dining, both inside and out, is available at the stylish, modern Portuguese restaurant, Louro; great for families. The poolside restaurant and bar, Dado, offers very-tempting cocktails and yummy-sounding South American-influenced dishes – order direct from your private cabana. The Lago lobby lounge is a relaxing space inside and out on the terrace, serving a range of Sri Lankan teas, classic cocktails, champagne and patisserie delights. As night falls, I recommend that you head to Sereno, on the infinity pool deck, it’s the perfect spot to catch sundown and enjoy a refreshing drink.

Pool & Activities

More pools than pool as the hotel has four! The views are lovely from the pool deck and a private cabana would definitely get my vote. Or try a luxurious treatment at Conrad Algarve Spa; designed to revitalize you and maximise your wellbeing. Amenities include: oxygen infusion and inhalation therapies, VIP couples’ spa suite, infinity pool, experience showers, indoor and outdoor relaxation zones and the, very refreshing-sounding, ice fountain! If you wish to venture out of the hotel (not convinced that I’d bother!), the hotel runs a shuttle service down to the beautiful sandy beach (and you must really, there are 100 miles of golden sands in the Algarve) and 6 world-revered 18-hole golf courses are literally a 5-minute drive away. The hotel also offers an unusual and seriously cool approach to its activity and tour program; choose how long you have; 1, 3 or 5 hours and then pick what you want to do! Be it watching gold jewellery being made, visiting a Portuguese winery, motorbike tours, boat trips, cultural tours, or there’s even things that you’ll never think of; how does playing with a Portuguese water dog for 3-hours sound?!

This hotel simply oozes luxury and contemporary style and I can think of nowhere more fitting to stay in this alluring destination.
