Book A Hotel

Are you in need of inspiration for your next vacation? Who better to ask than a luxury travel blogger? Surely there is no-one who travels more or who is more qualified to pick the very best destinations in the world.

In this article I share my favourite hotels in the world and also some hotels that our roving reporters have stayed at and have fallen in love with. I have placed these featured hotels in order of preference.

Our recent trip to the Grand-Hotel Du Cap-Ferrat A Four Seasons Hotel takes the top spot as both our favourite overall hotel and also the hotel with the longest name (the view from our room here is pictured above).

The Belmond Cipriani and the Aman Grand Canale in Venice are also truly memorable hotels and come in a close second and third along with the Hermitage Monte Carlo in position four, which is probably the best city hotel in the world.

For skiing, our ultimate hotel has to be the Aurelio in Lech – everything about it is simply amazing.

In Asia, we fell in love with the Intercontinental Danang and in America we are big fans of all the Four Seasons on the magical islands of Hawaii, our favourite being the Four Seasons Lanai which we intend to return to very soon.

Read on to find out why we love these hotels so much, then add them to your bucket list or you are missing out!

The best hotel on the French Riviera is the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel located near the small town of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Set in Belle Epoque splendor in a building that dates back to the 1800s, this ultra-luxury hotel offers everything you would expect of the very best Four Seasons hotel, but with a sprinkle of French chic. We most recently stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Cap-Ferrat, in April 2022.

Belmond Hotel Cipriani Venice is undoubtedly one of the best luxury hotels in the world. Once you've stepped inside this glamorous Narnia and sampled its stunning rooms, exquisite gardens, and perfect pool, you will find it hard to leave. This exclusive hideaway under the Mediterranean sunshine also happens to enjoy dreamy views across Venice.

The Aman Venice is not simply a hotel; it's an intimate retreat in the center of Venice's busy Canal Grande, protected from the madness of the city by palatial walls and a thick wooden door that only opens for those fortunate enough to enjoy temporary residency at this luxurious palace. We compare Belmond Cipriani Vs. Aman Vs. Gritti Palace Vs. Hotel Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel separately to help you decide which hotel will work best for you. Nestled in the center of Venice, the Aman is just 40 minutes by water taxi from Venice airport (around €150 EUR each way).

Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo, pronounced Hermitaaaaage by the French, is a Belle Époque dream built in the early 1900s and is one of the two best luxury hotels in Monte Carlo. It lies across the road from its only competition in Monaco, the Hotel De Paris, which recently underwent a huge refurbishment and rebuild. Both are fabulous hotels. For me, the Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo an easy choice. It's a more sophisticated and less glitzy choice in Monte Carlo. Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo is a 40 minute taxi ride from Nice airport (around €100 EUR in a taxi).

If you are in doubt of the level of luxury and comfort you are going to experience as your taxi weaves its way up the back roads of Lech towards hotel Aurelio, perhaps the bright yellow, mobile Veuve Clicquot champagne bar in the front garden will put your mind at rest? Sitting in the style of a burger stand, but instead, serving the highest quality champagne, this is a clear indication of the luxury that awaits. The look of the hotel mixes the contemporary with the alpine lodge.

In January 2017, I had the opportunity to review the Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in Danang, Vietnam. The Intercontinental Danang is located near the back of the Son Tra Peninsula, which is also known as Monkey Mountain. It is a 30-minute drive away from downtown Danang and the Danang International Airport. Danang is located along the coast of Central Vietnam. Book a room via our luxury travel concierge.
