Continuing our series of the top 5 best places to travel, I am now looking at the top 5 best romantic honeymoon hotels in the Maldives with private pools.

In fact, some of the romantic hotels in the Maldives are also some of the newest hotels on these magical islands, making them ideal for a honeymoon. I have already outlined 5 of the best luxury resorts in the Maldives, however if romance is on the cards and you are looking for seclusion, luxury and your own private pool, look no further!

1. Soneva Jani

Brand new and the sister hotel to Soneva Fushi Resort mentioned below, Soneva Jani is located on the island of Medhufaru in the northern Atoll of Noonu, an hour by speedboat from Soneva Fushi. It offers a huge 4 kilometers of unspoilt beach.

The new resort showcases some of the most modern approaches to eco-tourism. For example, it boasts a silent outdoor cinema, where guests will listen to movies with Bluetooth earphones, so as not to disturb the local wildlife. The resort also features 24 spacious villas, each with a private pool, as well as a private island villa for those who seek a truly exclusive retreat, with the master bedrooms boasting retractable roofs made from sustainable materials, so that guests can sleep under the stars without having to leave their beds. Some of the villas even feature a huge water slide into the Indian Ocean.

2. Soneva Fushi Resort, Maldives

Soneva Fushi Resort , is located in the stunning Baa Atoll island archipelago, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve (the same area as Milhaidoo below). Villas are hidden among dense tropical foliage and are the stuff of romantic Robinson Crusoe fantasies with many are built to resemble tree houses. All open to their own private stretch of sugar white sands, and most boast their own private seawater swimming pools. Service is provided by Mr./Ms. Friday butlers.

Activities include a Six Senses spa, private beach with water sports facilities, bikes to borrow, observatory, open-air cinema, floodlit tennis court, badminton, snooker table, group yoga and tai chi classes, jogging trail, board games, ice-cream parlour, library, stash of CDs and DVDs, free WiFi.

3. Four Seasons Private Island Maldives At Voavah, Maldives

Four Seasons has just opened its first exclusive-use hideaway in the stunning Maldives, the Four Seasons Private Island Maldives At Voavah, Baa Atoll.

Much like Richard Bransons Necker Island, this Four Seasons Luxury Private Island is rented out as a whole or “entirely yours”. With seven bedrooms, a Beach House, dive school and a private spa extend the oceanic spoils of the Maldives’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, you and 21 other guests can enjoy days in the double-storey Beach House and adjacent white sands.

Dive with whale sharks, snorkel with manta rays, swim with neighbourhood turtles, fish for your dinner, visit local islands and cruise into breathtaking Baa Atoll sunsets.

4. Milaidhoo Island Maldives

The brand new Milaidhoo Island Maldives, opened in November 2016, is also located in the stunning Baa Atoll island archipelago, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Though the resort is boutique, its dining options are on a grand scale. Choose from 3 restaurants and 2 bars throughout your stay. Idyllic beaches, world famous diving and snorkeling, fishing trips and cultural excursions are just some of the memory-making activities Milaidhoo will offer. This is a place to take it easy and take a dip with your dolphin, whale shark and manta ray neighbours within this protected marine area. Pack your bags, paradise has been found.
