Book A Stay

The InterContinental Estoril describes itself as an open window to the Atlantic Ocean and this small hotel, which has 57 rooms and 2 suites, offers some of the best views in Estoril. All rooms face the ocean with breathtaking views.

This modern oceanfront hotel is located in Cascais Portugal, just a short train ride from Lisbon, with the station virtually in front of the hotel (yet the hotel rooms do not suffer from any train noise). The hotel can also be reached by taxi from Lisbon which takes around 30 mins.

Located on the site of the former “Atlântico Hotel”, a property that became a symbol of Estoril and an important tourism legacy in Cascais, the InterContinental Estoril combines the heritage of the past with the modernity of the present. Throughout the hotel, you will enjoy hues of oceanic blues representing the oceanfront outside. The lobby and other common areas are all modern and elegant.

Rooms at Intercontinental Estoril
The rooms at the Intercontinental Estoril are decorated in earthy brown tones and are classic modern luxury in style. They are generous in size, each offering its own private balcony. Many rooms are connecting so it’s a perfect hotel for families. Next to the huge king-size bed are a sofa and a large working desk. If you lay in bed you can look out of the floor-to-ceiling windows and you can see nothing but the expanse of ocean, a truly incredible view. The large bathroom has a separate rainforest shower, a huge bath, and two sinks. There is fun multi-colored lighting in the bathroom which can be changed to any color or for a disco effect, you can set the colors to continuously change!

Spa, Gym & Pool
The Intercontinental Estoril has a Spa, sauna and gym. As Portugal is warmish throughout the year, you can usually swim in the outdoor pool. If the weather is unkind there is also a modern heated indoor pool. There are beaches a few minutes’ walk from the hotel which are the perfect place to go for a swim or to do other water activities. The picturesque Tamariz beach promenade, lined with bars and terrace cafés is also moments away and provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy the alfresco lifestyle.

Restaurants & Bar
Atlântico is the seafood restaurant at the Intercontinental Estoril and is located in a small building just next to the main building with same breathtaking views over the ocean. There are 50 seats inside and 52 on the terrace and you can enjoy modern Portuguese dishes with excellent and often local, wines. Dishes include fresh oysters with champagne, fish with risotto and most dishes have a seafood skew. This restaurant has an excellent reputation and comes highly recommended.

The other restaurant and bar area is in the main hotel with a great terrace setting for eating and drinking outside under heater lamps as the sun goes down. Breakfast is also served here and the alfresco setting is the perfect way to start the day, particularly in the summer.

The InterContinental Estoril feels like a modern, luxury boutique hotel. Cascais is ten minutes’ walk along the promenade which is packed with great bars and restaurants and pretty streets and shops.

The InterContinental Estoril offers a luxury and peaceful seaside escape. The views from the hotel over the ocean are simply amazing.
