Cider House is a luxury bed and breakfast nestled in the picturesque village of Buckland Abbey in Devon. This petite slice of heavenly country life is located between Tavistock and Plymouth, moments from Dartmoor and hidden in the Tamar Valley on a 700 acre National Trust estate and just over the border from Cornwall.

Cider House luxury bed and breakfast in Buckland Abbey
This picture perfect granite country home has been beautifully restored with great attention to detail and a contemporary warmth. Each bedroom is named after a West Country cider apple. Each room offers a countryside style with superbly comfortable mattresses, antique furniture and immaculate bathrooms. A great feature of the rooms are their window seats which are a great place to relax and absorb the views of the surrounding countryside.

Woodbine is the master suite and the most luxurious of the rooms. It offers a large dressing room, a super king size colonial four poster bed and large south facing windows with views down the valley. The ensuite has a gorgeous double ended roll top bath as well as a separate shower. Langworthy with its king size bed, offers views of the gardens and across the valley from a south facing bay window. The ensuite shower room has a large rainfall shower. Northwood sits in the oldest part of the house and is part of the original cider barn. This high ceilinged room offers either super-king size or twin beds and views of the Abbey, Great Barn, and the Cider House gardens. The ensuite houses a double ended roll top bath and rainfall shower. Precious Pippin is a cosy king size room packed with antique pieces. The ensuite bathroom has a double ended roll top bath, a rainfall shower and uniquely, views of the garden and valley beyond from the bath!

Take breakfast while looking out upon the valley in the sun dappled living room. Try afternoon tea on the south facing terrace (you must try the Cider House lemon drizzle cake). Expect to be indulged with soft bathrobes, homemade biscuits, Freeview tvs and Ren bath toiletries during your stay.

Cider House at Buckland Abbey is how boutique bed and breakfasts should be. A huge amount of love has made this historic country home a unique and special place to stay. From the homemade honey you spread on your toast, to the Buckland pigs who supply the delicious bacon and sausages at breakfast, the food and in fact the whole of the Cider House B&B is simply delicious.
