Review Of Two Bare Feet In Winchester
Two bare feet Winchester offers loft-style living to those looking for a break with friends and family or to those traveling with work. Each of the 3 individually styled bedrooms have been designed to make guests as comfortable as possible, and every aspect of the house is warm and welcoming. Once a scouts hut and then an office, the building has been totally re-invented with imaginative use of space, restored original features, and quirky little touches. The name itself has been re-claimed as in the 1960s a coffee shop called ‘two bare feet’ was located in the same courtyard.
This is a totally unique house, available to book as individual rooms or in its entirety. The bedrooms are private with lockable doors, king-size beds, 32 inch TVs, Wi-Fi, ensuite bathrooms, and lounge areas. With high, brilliant white ceilings, the interior has splashes of deep rich color, giving a crisp and vibrant feel with glimpses of Morocco. Perfect for business trips, gatherings of any kind, and also for families. The open kitchen/dining area means guests can relax and comfortably spend time together, with the separate rooms offering privacy as and when required.
Children will love climbing the stairs to the king-size, bunk-style bed in the little house. Underneath the sleeping area is a dressing and sitting room, with pretty window boxes where light streams in from the sky blue bathroom. Opposite the little house is a waiting room. This duplex style room is the largest of the 3, with a bright and spacious bedroom on the top floor and a sitting room with a double sofa bed on the ground floor. Room 101 is similar to the waiting room – downstairs, there’s a Danish, deep turquoise, velvet sofa in front of a huge, floor-length window, and upstairs is an inviting and sunny bedroom. Jugs of fresh flowers give a cottage feel to the light and airy space.
The bed linen is the finest Egyptian cotton, the bathrooms are luxurious, and the towels are soft and plentiful. The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy, with enough space to cook everything from a full English breakfast to a roast dinner. There’s also a handy Nespresso machine with tea, coffee, bread, and eggs complimentary to all guests. Flooded with natural daylight, there are solid oak worktops, and the original wooden floor has been beautifully restored. Outside is a city garden surrounded by greenery, and weather permitting, the quiet courtyard offers a pretty and secluded space for outdoor dining or just somewhere to sip your coffee in the sunshine before heading out for the day.
Two bare feet is ideal for up to 10 people to enjoy in peace and quiet, whilst being only a short stroll from the bustle of the center of Winchester. Nearby are the many cafes, bars, and restaurants and all that Winchester has to offer. Enjoy shopping, theatre, and strolls through the city to Cathedral Square or along the river and into water meadows. Visit the many historical sites in and around Winchester itself or take a day trip further afield to the beautiful South Downs, New Forest, or the Isle of Wight. The fast and frequent rail links direct from London Waterloo make Winchester a popular weekend destination, especially to those living in London.
You can rent the whole 3-bedroom house out from £335 GBP, or you can rent each room individually, with “little house” starting at £95 GBP per night, “room 101” starting at £115 GBP per night, and “waiting room” starting at £125 GBP per night.
