12. Canopy by Hilton London City, England

Canopy by Hilton London City, is a short walk away from Tower Bridge so is not far from one of the best Four Seasons in London, Ten Trinity, if you want to grab a drink or a bite at one of the most expensive and best hotels in London.

Canopy hotels offer a more affordable alternative than Four Seasons hotels, and this particular location is ideal for strolls along the River Thames and a visit to admire the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London.

While it may not be centrally situated for other major London attractions like the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and shopping areas, all these landmarks are just a few tube stops away. Alternatively, guests can use complimentary Canopy bikes to navigate the city.

13. Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, Italy

Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, pictured above, is a favourite of ours. We go back every year for the setting, the modern rooms, the rooftop bar, and the excellent value it offers in Venice. This large hotel has over 400 fabulous rooms. It offers a modern escape from central Venice on the island of Giudecca with a fantastic rooftop pool, bar, and chic, award-winning waterside restaurants.

I emphasize the modernity of this hotel because it is quite unusual to find a hotel in Venice that offers newly refurbished rooms, and these rooms make the Hilton a stand-out choice in Venice. This hilton has one of the best Hilton club lounges.

The Hilton Molino Stucky is located across the water from St. Mark’s Square on Giudecca Island. You can walk from one end of the island to the other, as far east as the magical Belmond Hotel Cipriani, which takes around 25 minutes. St. Mark’s Square and the rest of Venice are easily reached by the hotel’s regular shuttle boat, which is free beyond an initial, one-off room charge.

Although boasting stylish and contemporary rooms, the Hilton Molino Stucky is deeply rooted in history. Its iconic warehouse design is unveiled through exposed wooden beams and original brickwork, showcasing its rich heritage.

The hotel has a gym and a spectacular rooftop pool to enjoy. This is one of the best hotels with pools in Venice. The pool can get very busy, so the early morning is probably the best time for a swim. While there aren’t any gardens, you can step outside and sit on the seats perched on the cobbled waterfront while watching the boats for hours. You can also walk or jog the length of Giudecca Island, right by the waterside.

The breakfast experience here is truly exceptional, offering a staggering variety of delectable options. The Skyline bar, situated at the pinnacle of the building, provides an unparalleled view, while the hotel’s premier dining establishment, Aromi Restaurant, sits gracefully on the waterfront, offering a memorable culinary experience.

The Hilton executive club lounge is the best club lounge in Venice and is on the ground floor, next to the reception and adjacent to the piano bar. This lounge is long and thin, with bare brick walls on one side containing big windows looking out to the waterfront and the boats going by.

If you book a stay at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice via our concierge, you will get a bunch of free benefits, including hotel credit and the wonderful breakfast for free.

This Hilton is surprisingly good, and for Venice, it’s cheap. Rooms in July start at €383 EUR per night.

14. Hilton Lake Como, Italy

I had to include the Hilton Lake Como as this really is one of the best and cheapest luxury hotels on Lake Como, and if you are traveling in Italy, it is not to be missed. With unparalleled lake views from its rooftop pool and sky-high bar, Hilton Lake Como is located on the slopes surrounding Lake Como, just 10 minutes from the city center.

The splendid Villa Olmo is a mere five-minute stroll away, and numerous boat excursions depart from nearby docks. Guests can indulge in panoramic vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains from the hotel’s rooftop infinity pool and elevated bar, offering a luxurious yet value-packed experience on Lake Como.

Rooms feature ultra-modern design elements, including sleek dark wood flooring. Some boast large, rustic wooden beams, while all exhibit contemporary furnishings and stylish rugs.

The bathrooms are equally modern, adorned with inset sinks, expansive cream marble tiles, and backlit mirrors, exuding a touch of elegance uncommon in typical Hilton-branded hotels. Certain rooms feature standalone tubs, sizable backlit mirrors, and adjustable magnifying mirrors for optimal grooming.

In terms of decor, the rooms showcase a natural color scheme, with hardwood floors, serene grey and oatmeal seating, and rugs complemented by pristine white walls and bedding. While some rooms offer distant views of the lake, owing to the hotel’s setback location, the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that any vista remains picturesque. Whether the upgrade cost justifies these views is subjective.

Guests can also enjoy a small heated rooftop pool with stunning vistas, though some may encounter an additional fee for its use. Other amenities include an Elemis spa and a fitness center featuring a chic indoor pool and lounging area.

A highlight of the stay is the captivating decked roof terrace, adorned with vibrant multicolored lights and offering a splendid panorama of the lake. Purple backlighting illuminates olive trees adorned with twinkling fairy lights, while comfortable sofas and bar stools are scattered across stylish decking. A central firepit infuses the atmosphere with a delightful smoky aroma.

On the ground floor, guests can unwind in the cozy bar area, while the main breakfast restaurant boasts a spacious alfresco section with tables and chairs arranged on gravel, perfect for soaking up the sunshine.

In July, rates here start at €695 per night, which, believe it or not, is cheap for Lake Como. Hotel Tremezzo comes in at €1,900 EUR per night, excluding taxes and fees, so you can see what a bargain this Hilton is for Lake Como.
