Which is the best airline to fly to Asia from America in Business Class? I have picked United, American Airlines, Delta, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific.

Long-haul Business Class flights only represent 15% of long-haul seats globally, but this is the most lucrative cabin for airlines.

United is my first choice as the best airline to fly to Asia from America in Business Class because of its new Polaris seat and Polaris pre-flight airport lounges. American Airlines comes in second with its new Super Diamond seat, and Delta, with its new Delta One suite, comes third. All these airlines have a large schedule of routes from America out to Asia.

American Airlines vs. United vs. Delta

American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta are the three main North American airlines that fly from the major American airports over to Asia to airports including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Chennai, Dhaka, Delhi, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Manila, Osaka, Beijing, Taipei, and Jakarta. All three have recently launched a new, upgraded Business Class soft and hard product, with improved seats, food, and service. Elsewhere we have discussed in more detail which of these new Business Class Suites is best. In my opinion, the United Polaris Business Class Pod cabins are probably the best-looking of the three seats. The fact that matching ground facilities complement these cabins means that this entire product is more of a complete experience than the American Airlines or Delta offerings.

On American Airlines, whether passengers will be able to enjoy the new Business Class seats depends on when it gets its aircraft deliveries. It is worth noting that the American Airlines Business Class seats tend to be more spacious than those on United, although the United cabin is more stylish.

Delta’s new seats are only planned to be installed on around a fifth of its new fleet, which means that when you book a Delta Business Class ticket, the chances are you may never experience their Delta One product. In fact, Delta currently offers a very poor 767 Business Class seat with very little leg space, which looks like a 90’s nightmare, so great care must be taken to avoid the 767 product if you book a Delta Business Class seat. Delta, therefore, comes in position 3, but you must be sure you will travel on their newer planes. If your flight is due to be on an older plane with older seating, we recommend flying with Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific instead.

Singapore Airlines is an exceptional airline and comes in 4th on my list. The airline offers the widest seats in the world with direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 forward-facing cabin layout, and the food is restaurant-style and specially created by celebrated chefs.

At number 5 is Cathay Pacific, with the most comfortable Business Class seats and excellent staff, but the food menu and flavors can be lacking.

If you are traveling into Japan, Japan Airlines is also a good choice with its excellent JAL Sky Suites or pods.
