Receive complimentary breakfast at Luxury Hotels
When I stay in a destination, I like to do so in a great deal of luxury, but I also like to absorb some of the local culture. Many chain hotels do not offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in your surroundings and tend to veer towards a safe but bland look and feel that bear no resemblance to the country or town that you are in.
This is not so with the Park Hotel Tokyo which we have already reviewed in detail and which offers extraordinary art-inspired rooms. These rooms are very special and Japanese artists have designed their interiors. As a result, each room has been transformed into a unique wonderland (see photos on the slider above).
It is hard to choose a favourite because each is so different, but I am rather taken with the Artist Room Wabi-Sabi, a dark, moody room with the most beautiful oil slick walls which seem to offset the skyline perfectly. I also love the Artist Room Castle, with a huge castle on the walls and the Artist Room Cherry Blossoms with a cherry blossom tree backed by golden clouds and with golden butterflies flying across the ceiling. It’s so pretty that I would take the picture home if I could.
What I like about these rooms is that they represent Japan so that when you stay in the you will feel like you are in Japan, without losing out on the essentials (comfy bed, nice bathroom with luxury amenities, etc).
This hotel is extraordinary with the extent that it uses art to transform its rooms into something special. I challenge you to scroll through the photos of just some of the rooms above and not find one that you think is “just lovely”!
