Book A Stay

Said to be “all of Italy in one region”, Le Marche is a travel destination well worth exploring. Situated just over an hour away from Ancona airport, this area of outstanding natural beauty offers breathtaking mountainous scenery, blue-flag beaches, museums, art galleries and national parks. The charming Hotel Leone, a luxury boutique hotel in the medieval hilltop town of Montelparo, is the perfect place from which to explore this beautiful area.

Hotel
Small and intimate, this independently run hotel combines personal, friendly service with a high standard of luxury accommodation. Situated in a pre-16th century palazzo, the building is bursting with history and ideally located both in terms of accessing the delights Le Marche has to offer, and for the spectacular views its hilltop position affords.

Rooms
Hotel Leone has eight rooms – two luxury twins, four deluxe doubles and two luxury suites. Each room is different in style, so you can request, for example, an Asian, colonial or classic room depending on your preference. A mix of antique furniture, contemporary décor and modern amenities all goes in to creating the unique character of each room. Standard throughout, however, are high quality linens, full ensuite bathroom facilities, flat screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and luxurious Duck Island toiletries. Room Tip – ask for a room with a balcony – the views are incredible!

Restaurant and Bar
Open for lunch and dinner throughout the summer months and on request (for a minimum of six people) from November to April, eating in Hotel Leone’s 15th century brick vaulted restaurant is a memorable experience. Offering a seasonally changing menu, fresh local ingredients and a well-stocked wine cellar, you can choose from the a la carte menu or a pizza from the traditional wood-fired oven. In the warmer months, dine in the charming courtyard and enjoy the stunning hilltop views which change as the light fades. For a nightcap, pre-dinner drink or even afternoon tea, look no further than the art deco style Empire Bar, while breakfast is a real treat with fresh pastries, homemade breads and Illy coffee to enjoy.

Pool and Activities
Hotel Leone boasts an infinity pool with an elegant sunbathing area and stunning views over the hilly countryside all the way to the Adriatic coast. If you want to get out of the hotel and explore, there’s also no shortage of things to do in the area. Stunning sandy blue-flag beaches await those who simply want to relax, while history buffs will enjoy the castles and Romanesque churches and nature lovers will be eager to visit the nearby national parks. Wine tasting, designer outlet shopping and opera – in the birthplace of Rossini! – are all activities you can indulge in here.
