The Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai, was the first Hyatt Andaz in Asia. This 28-storey hotel features 307 spacious guest rooms and large suites ranging from 80–740 m² with vibrant views over Shanghai.

Location

The Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai, is directly adjacent to Xintiandi—a landmark entertainment area in the heart of downtown Shanghai, acclaimed for its restored Shikumen architecture housing and bustling with restaurants and restaurants and a Starbucks, all within walking distance. If you need something different, head to K11 or Hong Kong Towers one block north, where there’s also an Apple Store on the corner. Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai, is also a short walk to the Metro and the prestigious Huai Hai Zhong Road, one of Shanghai’s upmarket shopping areas.

Style & Character

The Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai, is all about the fun little touches. For example, there’s an impressive LED lighting system, which guests can customize the color to suit their mood.

Upon arrival, guests are treated to welcome drinks and receive all-day drinks and snacks at the Host Desk. As in all Andaz hotels, non-alcoholic minibar drinks and snacks, local telephone calls, and wireless internet access are complimentary. Other complimentary amenities include light snacks and evening wine service at Andaz Lounge.

Rooms

Rooms are split into standard, deluxe, suite, and view. Even the stylish standard rooms are spacious with hardwood floors, and the bathroom is outfitted with an electronic Toto toilet and bathtub.

These rooms have one king bed, a city view, and LED lights on the ceiling, which you can adjust to suit your mood. The modern bathroom includes floor heating, an electronic toilet, and a glowing translucent bathtub.

All rooms also come with an iPod docking station and the magical DigiValet-an iPad based guestroom solution, which means that everything in the room is controlled by an iPad mini. Well, everything except the toilet is motion-controlled. The curtains, blinds, lights, TV, AC, Room Service, Do Not Disturb, and even Clean My Room are all controlled by your iPad mini!

Contemporary deluxe rooms have views of the Xintiandi entertainment district and Huai Hai Road shopping neighborhood. The modern bathroom includes daylight, the same electronic toilet, and a glowing translucent bathtub. The best rooms in the house treat guests to a king bed, a separate working room, a Technogym exercise machine, and views of the Xintiandi entertainment district.

Food & Drink

Dining and entertainment options include Andaz Lounge, the heart of the hotel in the main lobby; Éclair, an all-day patisserie specializing in classic, cream-filled French pastries; and the signature restaurant Hai Pai—meaning “modern Shanghainese spirit”—a restaurant blending the traditional Shanghainese food with modern flavors that reflects the neighborhood culture and style. ”XUAN” Bar is a comfortable, barrier-free atmosphere with handcrafted cocktails, modern Chinese snacks, and tasty continental delicacies. 88 Sushi Bento Bar, located in the steel-brushed oval above Andaz Lounge, is a Japanese cuisine serving high-end sushi and sashimi.

Conclusion

Feel a sense of sanity and peace of mind as you enter Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai. This ultra-modern, gadget-filled hotel with amazing views is in the center of everything and yet evokes a sense of calm and voyeurism as you look out upon the hectic world outside. If you like stuffy and traditional hotels, this is not the place for you. But if like me, you like modern, funky, and hip with an edge, you will love this serene escape in the middle of the madness.
