Perhaps the most iconic Belmond train is the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, which is well known after Agatha Christie’s Poirot novels. This train journeys through Europe on various routes, taking in Berlin, Budapest, Innsbruck, London, Paris, Prague, Istanbul, Venice, Verona, and Vienna. Private carriage bookings on certain journeys can occasionally be found on special offers. The Grand Suite carriage (up to 6 passengers) and the Cabin Suite carriage (up to 8 passengers) tend to be available at a discount for journeys from Venice to Paris/London or London/Paris to Venice.
There is also an offer for a free transfer in Venice from Santa Lucia station to any central Venice hotel on arrival or when departing from any central hotel to the station. If you book the Grand Suite and get complimentary transfers at both ends of the journey.
3. Book Early
Belmond hotels, trains, and river cruises run at a high occupancy rate, particularly in popular seasons like the summer. It is often wise to book as soon as the rates come out. This can be a year in advance! It is certainly not worth holding out for a last-minute discount as these discounts rarely happen on popular routes, particularly in the high season.

Make sure you are certain of your dates because there are no refunds on most advance purchase rates once you are booked in.
6. Book For A Larger Group
Many of the Belmond train special offers involve a discount if you book for a larger group. 7. Shorten Your Stay Or Consider A Day Trip
For the Belmond experience for less, why not try a shorter journey like a day trip on the Belmond British Pullman train or a 1-night stay at a Belmond hotel rather than 3 or 4 nights? If you book into a Belmond hotel for one night, you can still take advantage of our early check-in / late check-out, free breakfast, and resort credit, and you still get the welcome amenity.

8. Holiday In Low Season
Book in low season! Be it your train journey, your hotel stay, or your river cruise. Venice, Monaco, and most of the Meditteranean are massively discounted mid-winter, so you can pick up a much cheaper rate out of the main season (late May to September). Early October and early May can be the perfect time to visit the Mediterranean, and the rates tend to be much more reasonable. The train special offers are more plentiful too. New Year’s Eve on the Belmond British Pullman train tends to be more expensive than a pre-Christmas meal. Shop around, be flexible, and make use of any special offers when they can be found.
9. Book A Less Popular Route
The Belmond Grand Hibernian is not the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and is not as popular as the Orient Express either.
