We have reviewed the best Four Seasons hotels in North America, which includes the stunning Four Seasons Whistler in the rocky mountains in Canada. The Four Seasons Whistler is also one of the best Four Seasons Ski Resorts in the world.

Why We Love This Hotel

I have stayed there many times since its opening in 2004. The fact that it is almost ski in, ski out (see details of their ski concierge below) and that it has a glorious year-round, fully heated 23-meter outdoor pool along with the views out to the stunning rocky mountain scenery means that it is a great choice for a vacation.

Deals At Four Seasons Whistler

I reviewed the best way to get deals and special offers at Four Seasons Whistler separately. The key is to book your next Four Seasons stay via our luxury travel concierge, and we can give you free loyalty-style benefits, room upgrades, and perks at the same cheapest rates.

These benefits will be added to your booking at no extra cost, even if the rate is a special offer rate, such as four nights for the price of three or three nights for the price of two promotions.

Get To Four Seasons Whistler

Fly into Vancouver International Airport and Four Seasons Resort Whistler is just a 2-hour 30-minute transfer by car from Vancouver. The hotel itself is just 15 minutes’ walk away from the Upper Village, which has coffee shops like Starbucks, bars, restaurants, and an array of shops. The walk is through a terribly pretty tree-filled area with a rushing mountain stream running through the center. If you prefer, a free Four Seasons shuttle will pick you up and drop you off.

There isn’t a great deal actually around this Four Seasons other than the mountains and slopes, although it is just a short walk from the Fairmont Chateau Whistler if you want a change of scene. We have stayed in both hotels, and they are both great, but the Four Seasons has the edge on luxury. Incidentally, our concierge offers great free benefits at both of these hotels.

Best Time To Visit

Ski in the winter or enjoy the wilds of the mountains in the summer sunshine. Golf, mountain biking, and hiking are all popular, or you can just relax in the spa and pool if you prefer.

Why Four Seasons Whistler?

The thing that Four Seasons hotels do so well is to provide a guarantee of room quality, service, and a resort of an extremely high standard. Wherever you go in the world, the rooms will be large and luxurious. The bathrooms, in particular, are always enormous, even in the base rooms. Their cheapest rooms are still of an excellent size, standard, and quality. In fact, they are usually identical to the rooms with a larger price tag and are often only differentiated from each other by the view.

The Four Seasons Whistler has 178 guest rooms and 95 suites, a dedicated ski concierge, a gorgeous spa, and a heated pool. It is situated on the Blackcomb side of Whistler and is easily the most luxurious hotel at the foot of the magnificent Blackcomb Mountain.

Rooms

The feel inside is of an alpine luxury boutique hotel with walls and ceilings cladded with red cedar, unstained maple wood, and honey-colored stone floors. The rooms and suites in the hotel all have separate baths and rainfall showers, L’Occitane toiletries, and gas fireplaces. There’s nothing like sitting by the fire in your room, and most have balconies too.

The most exclusive accommodation at the Four Seasons is the Private Residences. Perfect for family holidays in Whistler. Set apart from the main hotel, the Residences are beautifully designed and decorated, with views of the surrounding forest, valley, or mountains from private, furnished terraces accessed by enormous French windows. They feature kitchens, spacious living areas, state-of-the-art home entertainment systems, and pampering bathrooms with deep-soak tubs.

Restaurants

The Four Seasons Whistler’s main restaurant is Fifty Two 80 Bistro. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, guests can enjoy the fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. Sidecut is an alternative that serves up a wide variety of regional meats, including Canadian prime beef from Alberta and Pacific Ocean specialties like halibut or wild Chinook salmon.

Children

Four Seasons hotels are a brilliant choice if you are traveling with kids. The restaurants at the Four Seasons Whistler have kids and teen menus, children’s bathrobes and slippers, and babysitting services. There is also a children’s program offering evening entertainment. The resort offers fantastic winter and summer programs, providing loads to do for kids of all ages.

Pool

The pool is my highlight. It is warm, and the steam rises up in the winter as the snow falls. Even the pool deck is heated, so you don’t have to run from the indoors to the pool like an idiot to avoid frozen toes (it also avoids any icy slippiness, a very welcome attribute). There are also three therapeutic hot spring-style whirlpools along with a fully equipped gym that comes complete with personal trainers.

Spa

The spa at the Four Seasons is well-appointed and provides an extensive list of treatments, some of which can be in-room.

Ski Concierge

The Ski Concierge helps get you onto the mountain. They offer rentals and, crucially, equipment transfers to a little warm ski waiting room at the bottom of the slopes. Although this hotel is not directly ski in, ski out, it feels like it is, as you take a minibus from the entrance to this warm and stylish Four Seasons locker room that is right on the slopes with direct ski lift access. A nice touch is the delicious hot chocolate they provide to warm you up after skiing.

The concierge even delivers your skis to the ski room, dries them, and heats your boots before you put them on again! It is true ski luxury.

Conclusion

Four Seasons Whistler is a brilliant ski hotel for couples and families. To get the best possible discount and offers as well as free perks, book via our concierge.
