Receive complimentary breakfast at Luxury Hotels
In January, I took a work flight from Seoul to Hong Kong on Korean Air in Business Class. The flight was an evening flight, clocking in at a little under 4 hours, and operated by a Boeing 777-300. I have also reviewed my other Korean Air Business Class flights. This particular flight featured a 3 cabin configuration with 8 enclosed suites in First Class, 56 seats in Prestige Class (Korean Air’s term for Business Class), and 227 economy class seats.
For this flight, I sat in seat 15H, which was the last row of the business class cabin. Korean Air has a 2-3-2 configuration for business class on this plane, which would not be my first choice usually. The seat was 20.6 inches wide and had a 74-inch pitch. The seat could also recline into a lie-flat bed, although that would mean that your seatmate would have to jump across you to get to the aisle! Luckily, I did not have a seatmate next to me for this flight.
The flight was quite packed, and took a while to board before taking off. My seat had a pillow and a new wrapped blanket but no amenity kit, as this was a relatively short flight. The seat had decently comfortable cushioning. On the left armrest, there are controls to adjust the seat, while on the right side, there is a remote to control the personal entertainment system.
The right armrest had 2 round cup holders for both seats. The food tray is slid out from under the right armrest side, while a reading light is also located on the upper side of the right armrest. Underneath the reading light, there are a few USB power sockets and a tiny divider, which is more for aesthetics than function.
In the front of me is the 15.4-inch TV. Next to it is a small slot for the magazines, and under it is another pouch where they put the noise-canceling earphones, dinner menus, and safety cards.
Shortly after takeoff, the meal service began. My table was set up for me quickly while the flight attendant took my order. As I was not very hungry, having eaten a bit in the lounge, I ordered the roasted chicken with potatoes to nibble on. I also had some very delicious Korean cheesecake-flavored ice cream.
After the meal, I reclined the seat to the full flat mode to rest. I watched movies through the end of the flight on the personal entertainment system, which had a decent selection of English and Korean movies and television series.
Shortly before the flight was going to land, I went to the bathroom. As the flight did not give out amenity kits, there were some items in the bathroom instead, such as Jurlique moisturizing cream, a shaving kit, mouthwash, and a toothbrush kit. Come to think of it, this is probably the first time I saw a shaving kit in the bathroom, actually.
The flight landed safely in Hong Kong, and I went on my way. Overall, I would say that the flight was comfortable and solid. The services on board were good, and the flight attendants were cheerful. Nonetheless, a 2-3-2 configuration is definitely not my first choice when it comes to Business Class.
