Istanbul straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Noisy streets, reflect the cultural influences of the many empires that have ruled here, mixing history with modernity. This is a beautiful “must visit” city, but it’s frenetic nature means that it can be a blessed relief to escape back to your hotel, away from the busy streets.
A beautiful pool really attracts me to a hotel, and it is hard to beat the stunning outdoor pool at the stunning Park Hyatt in the heart of the city. This stylish pool sits on the roof, with greenery to one side and decked terraces. An eaterie offers poolside bites and drinks and a spacious lounging area at the end, offers the perfect place to lounge, calm down and relax.
The Park Hyatt (pictured above) is also ideally positioned just off the main luxury shopping street, where you will find upscale designer shops including the likes of Burberry, Gucci, Armani, Hermes as well as ultra-trendy bars and restaurants.
Other luxury hotels with pools in Istanbul include the iconic and glamorous Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah, which is located in the vibrant Beyoglu district and has an indoor spa pool.
The recently renovated Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus is another good choice and offers an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, along with a smaller, separate pool which is dedicated to children and young families.
Whatever your preference, these luxury hotels are some of the best on offer in Istanbul. Their pools are an oasis away from the lively street scene and each will cosset you in luxury during your stay in this magical city.
