Sleep way up high, in the treetops, looking down on the world like a bird… Surely treehouses are every child’s dream? Now you can book into a hotel room in the treetops. Treehouse resorts are still few and far between, but I have listed the very best below.
My first choice is the remote but magical Hacienda & Ecolodge Morgan’s Rock on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. here you can enjoy a 4,000 acre expanse of Nicaraguan jungle and on the shores of the most idyllic golden sand beach. Watch howler monkeys, languorous sloths hanging from the trees, and vibrant tropical birds from your tree house. In the evenings enjoy beach bonfires or witness baby turtles hatchlings scurrying out to sea on the star lit beach.
In position two I pick the breathtaking Post Ranch Inn, perched on the clifftop of Big Sur, a rugged stretch of California’s coastline between Carmel and San Simeon. This is the perfect overnight stop, to break up the drive along this scenic Californian Highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
