Set along the coastline of the glittering Cote D’Azur in the South of France, the chic Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa sits in a rocky cove looking out upon the glittering Mediterranean.

Tiara Miramar is an ideal base, located on the coastline between Cannes (just 7 miles away) and St Tropez, as well as being under a 2 hour drive from Nice Airport. Enjoy the bustle of these iconic cities, but escape in the evening to a private cove on the edge of the pretty village of Theole-sur-Mer.

Tiara Miramar Hotel Review

Tucked into the cliffs with 59 rooms, Tiara Miramar is a boutique hotel with a touch of the Middle-East in its decor. Dark ornate woods inside contrast beautifully with the lively colours outside. From the main terrace, you can look down over the hotel’s infinity pool, jacuzzi and tropical gardens, with sun loungers and cabanas dotted around. The hotel also has two restaurants, a spa, pool and its very own private beach. The beach is a private concrete peninsula and pontoon stuffed with comfortable loungers and steps down the the azur blue sea.

Rooms

There are various room categories to choose from and many of the rooms interconnect, ideal for families. Classic rooms have hillside views, Superior rooms boast garden views from a private terrace. Deluxe rooms enjoy sea views and a balcony where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Cote d’Azur coastline. Junior suites (which we enjoyed and you can see in our photos) offer either garden or sea views and have a lounge and either terrace or balcony overlooking the garden or sea respectively. You can also choose from three luxury suites that are particularly spacious, or rent the 3-bedroom villa, Villa Azura, offering all of the seclusion of a private residence with the services of a luxury hotel. In this villa there are three bedrooms, three terraces overlooking the sea and gardens, a lounge, dining area and kitchen.

Food

The waterside MoYa restaurant, located near the hotel pool and private beach, is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast by the sea. For dinner, choose one of the tables right by the waterside for views of the pinky-blue sky as the sun sets. The food is a delicious range of ever-so-fresh seafood and barbecued meats along with generous classic salads.

Activities

If you go to the Miramar harbour, you can make the 20 minute boat ride out to Ile Saint-Horonot, one of the Lérins Islands to see the breath-taking monastery before sampling the island’s famous wines. Or, if you’re after a spot of shopping, make the short journey to Cannes. If you want to stay local, take a stroll over to the marina in the village of Theole-sur-Mer.

For me the highlight of Tiara Miramar, beyond the beautiful room and glorious balcony with views across the cove, was beers on the terrace by the water as the stars came out. The crashing waves were so close that sea spray infiltrated my beer and tickled my face. Magic!
