Your tour will begin with a private tour pick up at 06:45am for those staying in a hotel in the Playa del Carmen area. You will then start your day with an early morning visit to the famous archaeological site of Tulum, one of the most visited tourist attractions of the Yucatan peninsula (this tour will beat the crowds and the heat of the day by arriving early in the morning when they open the gates). After exploring Tulum you can enjoy coffee and souvenir shopping or head straight on to the biosphere “Sian Ka’an”. Established in 1986 the biosphere reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the south of Tulum, covering an area of 5,280 km², it’s considered one of the most beautiful areas of the Yucatan peninsula. Sian Ka’an is the Mayan name and means “place where the sky is born”. Once you are on board, driving down to the lagoon, looking at the colours of the water and the sky you will begin to understand how it got its name. At Sian Ka’an you will start with a little walk through the jungle and the mangroves and will eventually reach a little deck where your captain awaits. The next 2 hours will be spent exploring the lagoon of Sian Ka’an, looking for different species of birds, for manatees, crocodiles, Mayan relics and the beauty of this special place and throughout your captain and your personal guide will tell you everything you need to know. After the boat ride you might be hungry, thirsty and looking forward to a refreshing dip into the ocean, so just half an hour away you can enjoy the comfort, good food and the beautiful beach of a local Beach Club in Tulum (lunch is not included in your tour). After enjoying the beach club you will be brought back to your hotel. Your tour will take around 8 hours from pick up till drop off at your hotel.
