An experience aboard a Tall Ship takes in all the senses; you’ll smell the fragrance of her tar and timbers. Taste the salt in the air. Feel the deck underfoot and a rope in your hand as you take part in setting sail. Listen to the creak of her rigging, a boisterous song from the crew or, the peace and quiet as the ship glides silently through the water. And… feel the love and joy that sailing provokes. So many beautiful tall ships have been lost over the years and there aren’t many left, but Sydney Harbour Tall Ships are determined to keep this traditional and authentic experience alive. This auction is for an Afternoon Discovery Cruise in Sydney Harbour for 2 adults and 2 children with mast climb. Experience the unforgettable thrill of cruising on Sydney Harbour in classic style on an 1850’s tall ship. Departing from Campbell’s Cove, you’ll cruise past all of Sydney’s biggest attractions including Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Admiralty House. On board, you’ll discover Sydney’s rich history and the stories and tales behind these iconic landmarks. You’ll also be given the chance to get as involved as you want – you can even help hoist and set the sails and then watch the wind fill the them and feel its strength carry the ship across the harbour. Alternatively, you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment provided by the crew, captain, chef and the barman, all of whom are at your service. Your cruise includes: a 1.5-hour sailing experience on a traditional tall ship, tasty nibbles and the opportunity to hoist the sails, climb the mast and even steer the ship. Please note: boarding time is 15 minutes prior to sailing time. Please bring a jacket, hat and sunscreen. Pick-up and drop-off points are subject to change, depending on the wharf’s availability.
