Nominated for the prestigious Sunday Times Best European Open Space Award, it was declared winner in 2008 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The golden beaches (including Iztuzu beach which has been voted the number one beach in Turkey on Trip Adviser), meandering rivers, sparkling lakes, pine clad mountains and unrivalled local hospitality, all make this small pretty town of Dalyan on the southwest coast of Turkey a must-see.

Dalyan welcomes guests of all countries and religious faiths to this very special place which is steeped in culture and history. It was also the location for the filming of the African Queen movie starring Bogart and Hepburn. During a stay here, you can take a water taxi to the 5km of golden sand passing by the Lycian Rock tombs carved into the cliffs that hide the ancient city of Caunos, from here you can see kingfishers, sea eagles, and if you’re lucky, the giant Carretta loggerhead turtles that return every year to lay their eggs. Dalyan truly lies where the Turquiose Coast meets the Mediterranean Sea, offering visitors an endless variety of opportunities to discover and enjoy.

The winner and their guests will be staying at Dalyan Dream, an ultra modern 5-bedroom villa with private pool and bar. The villa is suitable for children, couples, disabled, elderly and families. The villa is easily accessible with direct flights to Dalaman airport from most UK airports (with easyJet, Jet2, Thomas Cook, Tui and Turkish Airlines) and the transfer time from the airport is just 25 minutes. The area enjoys riverside restaurants serving local organic food, a vegetarians dream plus Turkish cuisine for all tastes.

In terms of accommodation the property features 5 bedrroms. Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor and it’s a twin with mirror, dressing table, bedside drawers, lamps, docking station and an ensuite wet room (disabled friendly). Bedroom 2 is the master suite on the first floor and it features a private wrap around terrace with modern black and steel table and 2 chairs overlooking pool. The master suite also enjoys a walk-in dressing room, king-size bed, double settee, bedside drawers, lamps, docking station, mirrors, storage drawers and wet room with shower. Bedroom 3, also on the first floor, enjoys a huge balcony with black and silver table and 2 chairs overlooking the pool and grounds. It has a king-size bed with bedside drawers and lamps, dressing table, docking station, mirrored wardrobes and an ensuite wet room with basin and mirror. Bedroom 4 is a very light twin-bedded room on the second floor with full length plate windows along the whole wall (may not be suitable for children). The room also benefits from mirrored wardrobes, bedside drawers, docking station and an ensuite wet room with basin and mirror. Finally Bedroom 5 is another large master bedroom with a large private balcony which features a black and steel table with 2 chairs overlooking the pool and grounds, with amazing views of the stork’s nest. The room enjoys a king-size bed, easy chair, bedside drawers and lamps, dressing table, huge mirrored wardrobes, jacuzzi bath with floor lighting and a balcony off the wet room.

The solid wood fully fitted kitchen has quartz work tops and glass tiles, a large fridge freezer, full dishwasher, full size oven and cooker, microwave, toaster, health grill, juicer, scales, mixer, hand blender, wine rack and much more.

The open plan living room features a comfortable grey chair and settee, side tables, side board, large flat screen satellite TV, DVD player, DVD and books. There is an additional toilet off the lounge. Under the stairs there is a washing machine and storage (there’s an extra washing machine in out house).

The dining area is light with a large wood and quartz table (which can seat 12+), benches and cushions. There are also massive sliding patio doors on both sides opening out onto the pool, bar and terrace.

This auction item excludes flights and transport – you will need to arrange your own flights / transportation to and from your home to Dalyan Dream sokak 325 Ataturk Blvd, Dalyan, Mugla, Turkey to coincide with your booking. Your stay is subject to availability, must be booked in advance and taken between 01- 30 April or 01 September – 31 October 2018. Winners must pay for their auction item in full via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction end, otherwise Luxury Travel Diary Ltd. reserves the right to offer the auction item to the next highest bidder with immediate effect.
