Nimmu House is a charming eco resort situated in the traditional village of Nimmu, 45 minutes from Leh, the capital of Ladakh, nestled at an altitude of 10,000 feet. It’s the ideal anchor spot for trekkers exploring the Himalayan paths or travellers wishing to discover the cultural jewels of the region. Set between apricot trees and golden mountains, Nimmu House offers unique accommodations combining modern comfort with Ladakhi traditions, as well as healthy and freshly prepared meals and a wide range of experiences ranging from treks and rafting to yoga and culture. All experiences are led by an English-speaking professional and can be booked in advance or during your stay.

Stay Itinerary:

Day 1: Airport pick up and transfer to Nimmu House. Pranayama and meditation session.

Day 2: Tour of the traditional village, farming and gardening activities. Picnic trip to the Zanskar river.

Day 3: Visit of Alchi and Likir monasteries and Basgo Fort with local guide.

Day 4: Rafting from Tgosti to Sangam on the Indus River (1 hour – kids friendly). Cooking atelier and yoga for kids.

Day 5: Airport drop off

Activities:

Yoga & Meditation: Relax and reconnect your body and soul through the daily group sessions of yoga and meditation (one in the morning and one in the evening). The English-speaking yoga master provides classes in the traditional yoga shala on the 2nd floor of the house.

Villages & Monasteries Visits: Discover the cultural jewels of Ladakh by exploring the villages and monasteries in the surrounding area with a driver and a local guide who will introduce you to the beautiful villages, palaces and monasteries of Likir, Alchi, Thiksey, Shey, Matho.

Picnic by the Zanskar River: Enjoy an intimate moment in the romantic and peaceful setting of the Zanskar riverside. A driver will take you to your destination, while staff members prepare a delicious lunch for you to enjoy peacefully, with the melodious sound of the river in the background.

Rafting: Adventurers will love to go down the rivers through impressive and colourful canyons. You have the possibility to choose among different itineraries depending on the difficulty level you desire.

Cookery Lesson: Learn how to prepare ‘momos’, the most famous Himalayan specialty, or delicious apricot pies with Chef Maya. During your 1hr30min lesson, you’ll discover the Ladakhi culture through its culinary arts. A convivial moment to experience with your friends or family!

The winner and their guest(s) will be staying in one of the four traditional Heritage Rooms in the noble house. Each one is decorated with taste and respect for Ladakhi heritage, whilst offering all modern comforts. Walls and windows are dressed with warm toned fabrics and rustic materials add a touch of charming mountain style. The rooms are situated on the first floor of the building and offer views of the orchard and the Himalayan scenery surrounding the house. The rooms feature: a king size bed or twin beds, fan, kettle for tea and coffee and each have a private ensuite bathroom with western toilet, sink, and shower with hot water (solar-panel heated).
