The Forge is the vision of Jamie and Sheena who were tired of their busy, stressful commuter lives in London and fancied a back-to-nature adventure bringing up their children in the beautiful Welsh countryside.

The Forge is a 20 acre property in Corwen, Denbighshire, North Wales where Jamie and Sheena share their love of the outdoors. It’s so much more than just a place to stay, offering a wide range of courses and events from survival skills weekends and bushcraft courses to outdoor cooking, gourmet evenings, wellness, holiday activity packages and foraging experiences. The Forge gives people the opportunity to escape from the pressures of everyday life and immerse themselves in the great outdoors, whilst still providing all of the modern comforts to make your stay as comfortable, stress free and relaxing as possible. The beauty of what’s on offer is that guests can do as much or as little as they want, it’s entirely up to you.

While there, guests can take a wander up the hill to the campfire on The Forge’s very own Iron Age Hill Fort, which is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner or gaze up at the stars, plus there is lots of private parking available too. There is also a large undercover games cabin with a pool table and comfy leather sofas for chilling out.

Jamie and Sheena can provide a welcome hamper for just an additional £30, filled with local goodies like: local bread, cheese, jam and chutney, along with fresh eggs and a selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables right from the Forge and their veg patch. They even throw in a sample of local cider and ales which are produced just a few miles down the road! Guests can enjoy 15% off half and full day bushcraft and hunting weapons courses. Jamie and Sheena are always happy to advise you on the best places to eat and drink in the locality too.

The winner and their guests will be staying in a luxury bell tent which has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you have a true back to nature experience, but with all the modern comforts to make your stay extra special. Each roomy tent has a double bed and two singles (which can be configured for two people) and is carpeted throughout with plenty of snuggly blankets and cushions to make it super cosy. The Forge is very child friendly and can provide travel cots and highchairs on request. There is lots of storage space as well as LED lighting and all of the linen and bedding is provided, all you need to bring is a towel! Each tent is situated on its own wooden deck with a well-appointed camp kitchen which has a sink and running water, a gas hob and plates, mugs, pots and pans and a selection of utensils so you don’t have to worry about forgetting the bottle opener. Outside, you will find a fire pit where you can sizzle your own bacon and toast marshmallows and you are provided with a bag of logs to get you started plus Jamie is always on hand if you’d like to learn a bit more about campfire cooking! The tents have their own composting toilet and hot showers are just a short wander across the field.

Outside, each tent backs onto woodland to ensure maximum privacy and is located in a large, enclosed field where children can run around and explore to their hearts’ content in a safe environment.
