Enjoy a 2-night stay for 2 guests in a Twin Room at Tigerland Safari Resort situated at Jagatpur on the western rim of the Royal Chitwan National Park in Southern Nepal, South Asia, including a Jungle Drive, worth approximately USD$800 / GBP£610

Tigerland Safari Resort is built on the banks of a river that separates the property from the mighty Chitwan National Park. Spread across 8 acres, the resort comprises of 32 air-conditioned cottages which stand on short stilts affording excellent views of the surrounding greenery and the expanse of the Chitwan National Park. The exteriors of the cottages perfectly blend in with the local surroundings, with projecting verandas looking out at the forest. Each room is well equipped with two comfortable beds, air-conditioners and heating, modern bathrooms with showers and hot water from gas-heating or solar-powered sources as well as a mini fridge, safe, fan and tea and coffee making facilities. The actual program for your stay will be given to you on arrival at the resort and the activities will be adjusted to the length of your stay, the season and current weather conditions. Below you will find a summary of an example 2 night stay at the Tigerland Safari Resort, naturally, it may not always be possible to follow this exact schedule and the circumstances may force the resort to have to alter the program at short notice. Please note: on safari in the jungle you will be accompanied by expert naturalists who will advise on safety procedures and Tigerland Safari Resort request you to respect their judgment at all times. If you wish to stroll in the forest, a guide will have to accompany you for your safety. Please note the winner will have to pay the National park fees of approximately USD$20 / GBP£15 per person/per night.
Example 2-night Stay at the Tigerland Safari Resort:
Day 1
Arrive at Tigerland Safari Resort via Narayan Ghat which is 22km from the main highway entry point ‘Hakim Chowk’, Bharatpur height. Upon arrival there will be a short briefing on the program and our facilities and the rooms will be assigned.
1PM Lunch is served
3PM Elephant-back safari: Guests will ride on elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours.
7PM Slide presentation. One of the jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Questions are most welcome.
OR
Tharu Stick dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances.
8PM Dinner at the central dining hall.
Day2
5:30AM Bird Watching: Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee ready for bird watching. Out of 519 species of the birds they have recorded 276 species in the area. Guides will help you to identify some of the species of these birds.
8:30AM Breakfast at the resort.
9:30AM Elephant briefing/Bathing programme: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to the elephant stables. (Note: Elephant bathing is done during summer season as elephant loves to bathe in the river willingly. Elephants are not forced to take bath during the cold season/day).
1PM Lunch at the dining hall
3:30PM Jeep Safari & Canoeing (subject to weather conditions): Drive by Jeep to Kasara, the head quarter of The Chitwan National Park to see the Gharial (Alligator) hatchery project, founded by Frankfurt Zoological Society. After a short briefing about the project & visit, drive to the oxbow lakes (Lami Tal & Tamar Tal) by Jeep through dense sal forest to encounter various plants and other wildlife. After the drive come down to the Rapti river at canoeing put in point. Start canoeing in a traditional dug-out canoe which takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds, crocodiles and the animals of the river banks. (Note: Jeep Safari is prohibited during monsoon season by the park authorities from June-September and in some seasons it can prolong till October).

5:30AM Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee and then proceed for the Village visit where a naturalist will brief you about the social and cultural aspect of the villagers and their lifestyle.
8AM Breakfast at the resort.
9.30AM Departure to your following destination.

No cash alternative is available. This auction item excludes flights and transport – you will need to arrange your own flights / transportation to and from your home to Tigerland Safari Resort, Jagatpur, Southern Nepal, South Asia to coincide with your booking. Your stay is subject to availability, must be booked in advance and taken before 30 September 2017. Winners must pay for their auction item in full via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction end, otherwise Luxury Travel Diary Ltd. reserves the right to offer the auction item to the next highest bidder with immediate effect.
