Enjoy a 2 night stay for 2 guests in a Courtyard Suite at Amandayan in Yunnan, China. Stay includes daily breakfast for two. Stay is valued at approximately 9,430 RMB / £1,040 GBP / $1,340 USD*. Please note all additional purchases including further meals, drinks, spa treatments, excursions, transportation, entrance fees for local attractions, etc. must be paid for by the winner separately.
Auction stay dates: to be booked at least 7 days in advance and taken before 20 December 2021, excluding stays over all of China’s national holidays (12 to 17 February 2021, 05 to 07 April 2021, 01 to 05 May 2021, 14 to 16 June 2021, and 01 to 08 October 2021), subject to availability.
Known as the Land of Eternal Spring due to its exceptionally mild climate, China’s southwestern Yunnan province is bordered by Tibet, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam and is famed for its limestone plateaus, snow capped peaks and rushing rivers. An ancient city, Lijiang’s Old Town, Dayan, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched in the center, above the roofline on Lion Hill, Amandayan overlooks the Dayan old town with its intricate bridges and canals system and dramatic mountainous landscape.
Arranged around calm courtyards, Amandayan’s dwellings are instilled with clean lines and the architectural aesthetic of the indigenous Nakhi people, using locally sourced materials. Visitors can discover rich natural beauty on a trek through Tiger Leaping Gorge or horseback ride through a wildflower meadow. In Lijiang, the narrow lanes and 354 bridges reveal heritage, architecture and culture that dates back centuries.
Amandayan itself features 35 simple, graceful suites, placed around peaceful courtyards and built in the classic, high-pitched-roof style with Yunnan pine and other locally sourced materials. The resort itself overlooks the snow capped Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, making it an ideal base for exploring this magical region.
Hotel facilities include an outdoor pool, private cinema, fitness center, restaurant, conference facilities, complimentary internet access and shopping. Set around the swimming pool, the Aman Spa integrates ancient Taoist practices, the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine and local herbs to calm body and soul.
In terms of dining, locally grown ingredients take prominence across Amandayan’s restaurants, from the Chinese restaurant serving Nakhi fare with a modern touch to the Lounge with Asian and Western dishes. The Tea House offers seats that look out over the Old Town accompanied by traditional Chinese and Western tea services.
The winner and their guest will be staying in a 72 sqm. Courtyard Suite overlooking a traditional courtyard, with king size bed, comfortable living area with daybed or sofa and writing desk and a spacious bathroom with double vanities, free standing bathtub, separate shower and toilet. Other amenities include: wifi, TV, sound system, safe, air conditioning, under floor heating, and personal bar.
