Be amongst the very first guests to stay in an incredible, brand new type of eco-friendly, luxury accommodation which only came onto the market in mid-June. The Ec(h)o Yurt is situated in the heart of southwest Scotland on the shores of Loch Ken. Created by award winning designer, Sam Booth (as featured on C4’s George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces) the remarkable Ec(h)o Yurt is built entirely from Larch wood, is off-grid and covered with a grass Sedam roof allowing the accommodation to truly blend into the private and peaceful landscape surrounding it. Couples can indulge in a luxurious interior including repurposed antique and vintage furniture. Fittings include a lovely wood burning stove, a hanging ‘Lovers’ Chair’ and comfortable double bed fitted into the curvature of the building, complete with a luxury mattress and crisp, Egyptian cotton sheets. The hideaway houses a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet facilities. Ec(h)o Yurt offers a significantly different stay and guests can savour tranquil surroundings on its private decking from which they can sip an evening drink and relax in a quality, wooden hot tub for two whilst gazing up at the stars. To add to your wilderness escape and to promote a simpler way of life, there are no TV’s, toasters, hair dryers, plug sockets or wifi in this true eco retreat. The retreat is also linked to the Galloway Activity Centre which offers an abundance of outdoor activity right on your door step.
