Mallorca is brimming with luxury, from historic estates to modern beachfront resorts. Here’s a rundown of some top luxury hotels that our luxury travel diary team thinks you should consider:
1. Four Seasons Mallorca at Formentor
The brightest jewel in Mallorca’s luxury hotel box, in our opinion, is the Four Seasons Mallorca. This ultra-luxurious hotel is set in the center of a national park and on the edge of a picture-perfect beach, complete with clear azure blue waters and silky sands. We loved swimming in the calm waters, watching fish swim about underneath us.
This Four Seasons hotel recently reopened and has been wholly and beautifully refurbished. It offers stunning interiors with a double-height bar, super stylish zen reception area, a spa, numerous restaurants, a kids club, a winery, numerous pools and a beach, which is unusual in Mallorca. Most Mallorcan luxury hotels are clifftop with no sandy beach at all.
The rooms at this Four Seasons are gorgeous, some of the best of any Four Seasons hotel we’ve experienced, and all have balconies or terraces, many with plunge pools and the view from the upper rooms is pictured in the header of this article.

There are three stunning main pools kept at the perfect temperature, a peaceful infinity pool for adults only, a gorgeous family pool with a shallow end perfect for little ones and a deeper end for slightly older children, and a stylish spa pool set on the lawns outside the spa.
But the highlight of our visit is the evenings, when the sun goes down and the terraces come alive with music and jollity. The main bar spills out onto a vast terrace, where you can sit on comfy sofas underneath pergolas and listen to someone strumming a guitar and the restaurant terraces become a hub of happiness and good food.

This Four Seasons feels remote, like a ship sailing in a forest of nature, because it’s situated in a national park far away from civilization. It also helps that the hotel has a heavily guarded entrance that keeps the tourist hordes out, so sitting out at night is incredibly relaxing. When live music isn’t playing, the orchestra is the sounds from the surrounding forest.
Beyond the bar are two main restaurants with wonderful alfresco terraces. These serve ridiculously fresh fish straight from the sea, along with other staples with a Spanish twist.

The breakfast, which is free for two people if you book via our luxury travel concierge, is exquisite in the mornings. The buffet includes berries, fruit, pastries, cakes, fresh ham, smoked salmon, cereals, and nuts. The à la carte is even more indulgent with Spanish egg dishes, avocado toast, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, and more, all served on Mel’s stunning terrace.

And the staff here could not be more welcoming. When you visit the Four Seasons, you become part of the family; every staff member remembers you and is delighted to see you. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that nowhere else quite matches up by comparison. This Four Seasons hotel is superb!

Review: Four Seasons Mallorca
Four Seasons Resort Mallorca At Formentor is an extraordinary boutique Four Seasons hotel hidden in an unspoiled nature reserve on Mallorca’s sparkling coastline. I can’t think of any other hotel in Europe with such a stunning setting, plus this Four Seasons hotel offers direct access to a pristine beach. The hotel peeps out of a forested hillside at the foot of huge mountains that rise directly from the crystal clear Mediterranean. You could be forgiven for mistaking these mountains for the volcanic landscape in Hawaii or the Piton peaks in Saint Lucia.
2. St Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort
St Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort is another “wow” hotel on Mallorca. As part of the Marriott luxury brand, this St Regis has fabulous modern rooms with wonderful decor, gardens, and pools. All of this loveliness is located on the edge of the cliff, so you get coastal vistas from every corner.
St Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort is hidden up a cobbled driveway on the coastline of Mallorca. The hotel is actually located next door to the new Mandarin Oriental Mallorca, outlined in position three.

The rooms, gardens, and alfresco restaurant settings are what we loved most here. The rooms really are brilliant. They are generous in size with beautiful decor, wooden floors, deep pile rugs, and glorious balconies with wonderful sea views.
The gardens span the clifftop and are beautifully manicured with lawns and beds of pretty Mediterranean flowers. The two main pools are the places to hang out. A stunning multi-level pool is where the adults relax under white parasols while the kids head over to the other side of the resort, where there’s a kids’ pool under a sun screen and a play park.

The breakfast spread is fabulous here and is complimentary for two people if you book your stay via our luxury travel concierge, and a pianist tinkles on the ivories throughout while you munch away under the shade of pergolas. In the evening, there are numerous restaurants to choose from. The most noteworthy set is on decking on the edge of the cliff and under a forest of olive trees. This setting is truly stunning, as is the food.

For a more casual evening, the bar here is great and spills out onto an elevated terrace which provides views from one end of the property to the other, and out across the bay. Beyond the bar, there is also a pool table, which my teen loved to practise his skills on.
This St. Regis is a fabulous hotel and in a more practical location for a weekend break, as it’s only a short drive from the main Palma airport. Four Seasons is over an hour’s drive away, so for a short break, the St. Regis may make more sense.

3. Sant Francesc Hotel Singular is Palma
Sant Francesc Hotel Singular is Palma, Mallorca’s most luxurious boutique hotel. Hidden in the old town, this historic and beautifully maintained hotel is completely unique and utterly charming, and is situated in the best bit of unwieldy Palma.

The old town in Palma is the perfect place to spend the days away in little cafes or by the rooftop pool, as the adjacent church bell towers.
Sant Francesc Hotel Singular has preserved its historic beauty and enhanced it. You enter the hotel through arched glass doors, and the reception area is huge, airy, and relaxing with a chessboard black and white flagstone floor.

Keep going and you reach a stunning bar area, once again edged by huge glass doors fitted in the archways of this historic building, and beyond the bar are numerous windy staircases leading to the gym in the cellar and a restaurant which hosts breakfast with its own charming terrace. The restaurant is encased within vaulted ceilings, which feels like you’re dining in a historic wine cellar.

The rooftop pool bar and pool, which is probably the most stunning area of the hotel, and certainly the most airy. As the hotel sits next to a church, the church bell tower looms above the pool on one side, chiming its historic tolls.
Rooms here are stunning and bathed in history, with gorgeous and spacious sandstone bathrooms.

The breakfast includes a well-thought-out buffet set up on one side of the internal breakfast area, and an à la carte breakfast menu which includes a very good avocado toast and eggs any way you like them. The waiter who served us was so friendly and really helped us with our breakfast choices.
This boutique hotel is utterly charming and undoubtedly the best luxury hotel in Palma, Mallorca.

Hidden in the old town, this historic and beautifully maintained hotel is completely unique and utterly charming, and is situated in the best bit of unwieldy Palma. Sant Francesc Hotel Singular is a stunning historic hotel tucked away on a beautiful square in the old town of Palma in Mallorca. A huge church dominates one side of the square, and across the cobbled street from this church is the entrance of this delicious boutique hotel. Palma may or may not be what you expect.
4. Mandarin Oriental Mallorca
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, is a new clifftop resort that is expected to open in Mallorca in 2025 and will undoubtedly become one of the best Mandarin Oriental hotels in the world.
The hotel is currently under construction. You could hear the building work and see the cranes from the adjacent St. Regis Mardavall. The property is ideally located within Calvià, one of the most exclusive municipalities of the island, and close to key attractions such as the Portals port, the historical landmarks of the capital Palma de Mallorca, and the rather ropey international airport located just outside the city.

The clifftop setting is stunning. The beach in front of both resorts is a tiny cove reached by walking down steep steps. This Mandarin Oriental is not, therefore, a beach resort. There are no hotel loungers on this sandy cove, so neither the St. Regis nor the Mandarin Oriental is considered a beach hotel.
Instead, it is a resort where you will want to laze in the grounds and gardens and enjoy their beautiful pools, the clifftop setting, and wonderful sunsets.
The resort’s new contemporary design is being created by HKS, Estudio Lamela, an award-winning Spanish architectural practice with strong sustainability credentials, while the interior design, featuring many local cultural references, is overseen by award-winning designer Laura Gonzalez.

A comprehensive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the Group’s signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments, with a focus on local nature-inspired programs. The spa includes an indoor swimming pool, while three outdoor pools are located across the resort. Guests will also have access to a wide range of water sports and a comprehensive Children’s Club.
Son Vida, Son Mutaner, and Son Quint golf courses are just 15 minutes away by car from The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort and, therefore, the Mandarin Oriental too.
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, will feature 131 guestrooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows located on the clifftop next door to the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. The accommodation will provide full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces, or balconies, some offering private panoramic plunge pools. There will also be three pools (including one children’s pool), a spa, and a covered/indoor pool.
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra will be an amazing, conveniently located clifftop resort with fabulous coastal views.

Review: Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, is a new clifftop resort that is expected to open in Mallorca in 2025. This follows the recent openings of Mandarin Oriental properties in Barcelona and Madrid, and this Mallorca Mandarin Oriental will undoubtedly become one of the best Mandarin Oriental hotels in the world. The hotel is currently being built. You could hear the building work and see the cranes from the St. Regis Mardavall when we stayed there in September 2024, as the Mandarin Oriental is being developed right next door.
5. Cap Rocat in Mallorca
Cap Rocat in Mallorca is one of those places that feels almost secret — like you’ve stumbled onto a hidden world carved into the cliffs. Originally a 19th-century military fortress, it’s been beautifully reimagined as a luxurious adults-only hotel, where stone corridors and heavy archways open up to breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The vibe is effortlessly cool: think sandy stone walls, breezy terraces, private plunge pools, and a feeling of total seclusion. You can spend your days lounging by the infinity pool, exploring the rocky coastline by kayak, or just soaking in the wild beauty of the place with a cocktail in hand.
Despite its fortress roots, nothing about Cap Rocat feels cold or harsh. The interiors are warm and understated, blending rustic Mallorcan charm with modern comfort. The spa, tucked into the former shooting galleries, is all candlelight and soft stone — it’s almost like bathing inside a dream. Food is a big deal here too, with a focus on local ingredients and long, lazy dinners under the stars. It’s the kind of hotel where you quickly lose track of time, and honestly, you won’t care one bit.
6. La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel
La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, feels like the ultimate escape if you dream of living the good life in a quiet Mediterranean village. Tucked into the sleepy, artsy town of Deià, it’s surrounded by olive groves, lemon trees, and the rugged Tramuntana mountains — basically, a postcard brought to life. The hotel is made up of beautiful old stone houses, with rustic shutters and winding paths that make you feel like you’ve been dropped into a simpler, more beautiful time. It’s the kind of place where you wander barefoot to breakfast, chat with the local artists whose work fills the hallways, and never feel like you have to rush anywhere.

10 Best Four Seasons Beach Resorts
The best Four Seasons hotels & resorts for beaches in the world include Four Seasons Mallorca, Four Seasons Lanai Hawaii, Four Seasons Surf Club on Miami Beach, Four Seasons Nevis, Four Seasons Costa Rica, Four Seasons Los Cabos At Costa Palmas, Four Seasons Palm Beach, and Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat for its beach club. To be honest, there are several other properties that we wanted to include in this article, but we would have to stray into the realms of the top 20 or 30 to include all our favorite Four Seasons hotels with beaches. There are just so many great ones!
The vibe here is totally relaxed but still super polished — perfect if you want luxury without the flash. Days are spent floating in the quiet pools, hiking the nearby trails, or hopping on one of the hotel’s vintage Vespas for a scenic ride. The spa is all about that relaxed, natural beauty, and the restaurants serve up fresh, local food that somehow tastes better after a day in the sun. La Residencia is less about showing off and more about sinking into an easy, timeless kind of happiness, like a secret you almost don’t want to share.
7. Castillo Hotel Son Vida, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Mallorca
Castillo Hotel Son Vida, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is an adults-only retreat nestled in the hills above Palma de Mallorca. Set in a 13th-century castle, the hotel offers panoramic views of the Bay of Palma and is surrounded by lush gardens and golf courses. The interiors blend historic charm with modern luxury, featuring elegant rooms adorned with classic furnishings and contemporary amenities. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities, including a spa with multiple pools, saunas, and treatment rooms, as well as several dining options offering local and international cuisine.
The hotel’s location provides a tranquil setting while still being just a short drive from the vibrant city center of Palma. Whether you’re looking to relax by the pool, indulge in a spa treatment, or explore the nearby cultural attractions, Castillo Hotel Son Vida offers a luxurious and serene base for your Mallorcan getaway.

The best Four Seasons hotels in the world include Four Seasons Mallorca, Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, Four Seasons Lanai in Hawaii, Four Seasons Whistler, and Four Seasons Los Cabos. Specifically, in Europe, you will find Four Seasons hotels in Athens, Baku, Budapest, Florence, French Riviera (Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat), Sicily, Geneva, Hampshire, Istanbul at Sultanahmet, Istanbul at the Bosphorus, Lisbon, London at Park Lane, London at Ten Trinity Square, Madrid, Megève, Milan, Moscow, Paris, and Prague.
8. Son Bunyola
Son Bunyola feels like staying at a friend’s ultra-private, ridiculously gorgeous estate — if that friend happened to be Sir Richard Branson. Spread out over a massive, untouched stretch of Mallorca’s northwest coast, this 16th-century finca is pure rustic luxury. Picture stone villas wrapped in bougainvillea, ancient olive trees, and endless views of the Mediterranean shimmering in the distance. It’s quiet in the best way possible: you hear birds, the breeze, and the occasional clink of a glass as you sip wine by your private pool. Everything about Son Bunyola feels effortless, like life slows down the moment you arrive.
Even though the setting is totally wild and remote, the service is polished and intuitive, like they somehow know exactly what you need before you even ask. Days here are for lazy breakfasts on sun-drenched terraces, wandering through vineyards, or maybe heading down to the rugged coastline for a swim. Meals are a huge highlight too — fresh seafood, local produce, and long, slow dinners under the stars that feel more like gatherings than formal events. Son Bunyola isn’t just a hotel stay; it’s the kind of experience that makes you seriously consider ditching real life and moving to Mallorca for good.
9. Jumeirah Mallorca
Jumeirah Mallorca is the kind of place that instantly makes you exhale a little deeper the moment you step onto the terrace and catch that insane view. Perched high on a cliff above the harbor town of Port de Sóller, it feels like you’re floating between the sea and the mountains. The whole vibe is low-key luxury — stylish without being stiff, super welcoming, and built to show off the wild beauty all around. Whether you’re lounging by one of the pools or sipping sangria at sunset, the Mediterranean is always right there, just beyond the edge of your sunglasses.

Review: Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa
Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa is situated on the picturesque northwest coast of Mallorca. It commands a captivating position, gazing out upon the serene beauty of Port de Sóller Bay. Perched high above the port, at the edge of the Serra de Tramuntana, the hotel graces visitors with a clifftop retreat. Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa is one of very few Jumeirah hotels in Europe. Capri Palace in Italy is another stunning Jumeirah hotel, this time in Italy, which offers distant views over the Meditteranean.
Inside, the hotel nails that bright, breezy Mallorcan style, with lots of natural wood, soft fabrics, and massive windows that practically invite the views inside. The next-level spa offers treatments that use local oranges and herbs — perfect after a long day of hiking or a few too many tapas. You can wander down into town for fresh seafood, or just stay put and let the hotel’s restaurants spoil you with seriously good food. Jumeirah Port Soller is for anyone who loves the idea of getting away without giving up a single comfort — it’s easygoing, insanely beautiful, and just the right amount of fancy.
10. Can Ferrereta
Can Ferrereta feels like one of those perfect little secrets tucked away in the quieter corners of Mallorca. Set in the sleepy village of Santanyí, this old 17th-century mansion has been transformed into a boutique hotel that’s all about understated, effortless luxury. Think honey-colored stone walls, leafy courtyards, a dreamy pool, and interiors that balance minimalism with warm, Mediterranean charm. Art lovers will especially vibe with it — the place is full of contemporary pieces that feel carefully chosen rather than thrown in. It’s the kind of spot where you check in, throw on something linen, and immediately slip into a slower, softer rhythm.
Life at Can Ferrereta is beautifully simple: long breakfasts in the garden, afternoons wandering the cobbled streets or napping by the pool, and evenings spent lingering over wine and seriously good food at the hotel’s restaurant, Ocre. The spa is tucked away like a little oasis, perfect for sneaking in a massage after a day exploring the nearby beaches. Everything here feels personal and low-key glamorous — not flashy, just naturally beautiful, like Mallorca itself. It’s basically a love letter to slow living, and once you settle in, you won’t want to leave.
