Here’s Luxury Travel Diary’s list of the best luxury hotels in Kuala Lumpur, ideal for high-end travelers who value elegance, service, and stunning city views, especially of the Petronas Towers and KL skyline. Our personal experience of these hotels should help you decide which is the best for you.

1. Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is the highest luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and the views from this hotel alone make it worth the stay here. The hotel is set in the country’s most prominent historic site and occupies the top floors of Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in the Asia Pacific region.

The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s style is ultra-modern and very much what you would expect from a Park Hyatt. In the lobby area, pictured above, the main chandelier is a huge mass of golden cubic metal prongs. The gold coloring continues in intricately detailed golden metalwork on the walls and partitions.

On one wall, numerous vertical lines of gold make the entire wall a mass of golden sheen, with a vast globe-like artwork set in the middle.

Beyond the lobby, the main highlight is the spa, another marvel of design that continues the gold theme with shutters with a gold sheen draping down to the window and lounger sides of this concrete pool. This area is, once again, a shrine to modernity, with grey concrete-colored slabs smoothing every surface and giant lanterns spreading golden light from plinths on each window sill. Once again, the pool offers floor-to-ceiling windows and immense views.

Rooms here are also incredible with one wall of each room being floor to ceiling glass which means you will be able to see across the entirety of Kuala Lumpur from your bed.

Set in the country’s most prominent historic site and occupying the top floors of Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in the Asia Pacific region, a stay at the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is like a stay in a bird's nest, high up in the skies. The views from every side are almost unbelievable. Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur occupies the top floors of the Merdeka 118 building. Merdeka 118 is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, just south of the city’s historic core.

2. Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur

Unlike the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, which offers immensely high views and a zen indoor spa pool that feels chic but quiet, this Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur is comparatively lower in terms of being in the sky and is much less vertigo-inducing. It has a lively rooftop pool where you can relax in the fresh air on comfy loungers gazing up at the swaying palms and soaking up this sun. This pool and entire hotel has a completely different vibe from the Vogueish Park Hyatt, and while the Four Seasons feels swish, it also feels more grounded, more suitable for families, and it has a brilliant club lounge.

Honestly, this Four Seasons isn’t as stylish as the Park Hyatt with its gold detailing, partially because the Park Hyatt is the newer of the two hotels, but the Four Seasons is contemporary and has its own more friendly and relaxed style. We love both hotels, but even by simply looking at the photos of each hotel, you can spot the different vibes.

Which you choose is up to you. Both hotels are brilliant, and if you book either via our luxury travel concierge, you get free benefits, including complimentary breakfast and hotel credit.

3. Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, offers the city’s largest club lounge, an award-winning spa, a great fitness center, and the best outdoor rooftop infinity edge pool in Kuala Lumpur. For us, the pool is the reason to stay here because its tropical setting and park views make this rooftop space completely unique and unlike anything else you will experience in the city or across the world.
