Book A Stay

Diamonds Thudufushi in the Maldives offers a once-in-a-lifetime holiday that you will almost definitely feel driven to repeat. The resort sits on its own perfect private island and offers elegant beach bungalows and luxury over water villas in a dreamy Maldives setting.

Location

Just a 20-minute scenic seaplane flight away from Malé International Airport, this resort has a major and rather unique attraction.

Style & Character

Over and above the magic you might expect in many luxury Maldivian retreats. This little gem comes with its very own private reef. This “house reef” is excellent, and besides the abundance of fish, you will see turtles, black-tip and white-tip reef sharks, and eagle rays.

Rooms

At Diamonds Thudufushi, you can choose between 33 Beach Bungalows, 14 Beach Junior Suites, 19 Water Villas, 2 Jacuzzi Water Villas, and 2 Two Bedroom Water Villas. The decor is a mix of dark wood flooring, white walls with exceptionally large and comfortable beds and an impressive private deck or terrace to while away the days.

The 33 Beach Bungalows open straight onto the beach with private verandas containing armchairs, tables, sun loungers, and an outdoor shower. The water villas are spacious, and each has private access to the sea with an enclosed sun deck and an open sun deck. These water villas are ideal for slipping in for a snorkel first thing in the morning. If you are a fan of the underwater world, you will be excited to hear that these villas also offer direct access to the house reef straight off your deck. Many guests experience close encounters with black-tip sharks and eagle rays just moments from their villas.

Sunrise-view water villas are more spaced out so you feel completely alone. Sunset water villas are closer to each other but are ideal for enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down.

Service & Facilities

The “Centro Serena SPA” is an oasis of peace and serenity in a natural environment, perfect for those who desire to relax, restore and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit. Let yourself be pampered during your stay by the welcoming smiles and expert hands of our therapists, who use a combination of herbs, oils, spices, and flowers.

You may fancy an excursion because it only takes 7 minutes to walk around this island (and most other islands in the Maldives!). The whale shark trip comes highly recommended and is only around an hour by speedboat from Thudufushi. This is your chance to get up close and personal with juvenile’ sharks (still huge!) snorkeling around these magnificent beasts. Take an early “drop” to ensure you get the sharks to yourself.

Food & Drink

Those staying in beach villas enjoy a buffet-style breakfast and evening meal. The variety of food is very good, with highlights like the BBQ night where the staff cook up a giant swordfish. The water villas offer a breakfast service on the deck of your water villa and a VIP dining experience in the over-water restaurant for lunch and dinner (beach villas don’t dine here), along with premium drinks. The food in this restaurant is Italian in style and is an impressive 5-course affair with excellent wines.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a luxury retreat in the Maldives and to snorkel on your private reef under your overwater villa, you must consider Diamonds Thudufushi. Expect an aquatic paradise under a luxury villa, and you won’t be disappointed.
