Book A Stay

Set on the lush paradise island of Taveuni, Tides Reach Resort is just a few steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Sitting right on the beach, it combines 5-star services with the personal feel of Fijian hospitality that you will only experience in a small, intimate resort.

Location

Tides Reach Resort has just four beautiful and secluded villas, so it may not yet have entered your itinerary. More’s the pity as this is a resort set in paradise with something for everyone. Gill will welcome you at the airport and drive you the short 5-minute drive back to Tides Beach Resort. From there, you will be absorbed into the wonderful “family” of local staff who will make this resort a home from home for you.

Style & Character

Tides Reach Resort is literally bursting with color, from the white sand beach and clear blue ocean to the bright green of the foliage behind. It is like someone turned glorious technicolor up a notch.

The Tides Reach Resort’s staff are truly one of a kind. The care and level of service is top-notch. You will feel very close to them as the personal level of service is so much more than the guest-staff relations you experience at most resorts. I was always greeted by name and was given the time to learn about their local lives and culture.

Rooms

The personally styled luxury beachfront suites and villas at Tides Reach Resort are designed in gentle hues of creams and browns and make the perfect backdrop to lush mountains and warm crystal clear water. The villas are beautifully kitted out with the most fantastic stand-alone bath in a huge bathroom, heavenly beds, and bespoke artwork on the walls. Each villa looks out on the ocean.

Service & Facilities

Couples and honeymooners can enjoy privacy and laze on the beach to absorb the views. Diving is a must here, and the staff will drive you directly from the property to Rainbow Reef on the resort dive boat. You will feel like you are on a National Geographic special. The colors are so vivid, and the fish so numerous. Children can collect shells. I am a shell lover Fiji has some of the best I have seen in the world. They can also hunt for hermit crabs. Other highlights include surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, touring the island on the ATVs, going to the island’s Rugby championships, and doing a tour of the local village of Wei Wei. Don’t miss The coastal walk, where you can splash in waterfalls and slide down the rocks.

I really enjoyed the feeling of being away from the crowd at Tides Reach Resort, as Taveuni does not have a lot of commercial businesses and “tourist” shops. Just beautiful beaches and scenery, fishing, horses on the beach, nearby picnic islands, celebrations with the local village, singing and laughing with the band, and of course, some of the world’s best diving.

Eat
Dining is excellent, delicious, candlelit, and magical. Fresh, organic food which can be tailored to special dietary needs and explodes with wonderful flavor. As I eat my Marks and Spencer ready meals back at home, I yearn for the Tides Reach Resort seafood dishes and their roti and egg breakfast curry!

Conclusion

My heart didn’t want me to write this review because I wanted to keep Tides Reach Resort quiet and all to myself. The privacy, intimacy, and fabulous service make Tides Reach Resort feel like your own secluded and exotic world, a tiny slice of paradise on an island that is pristine and unspoiled – so hard to find nowadays. The island and people are infectious and will truly warm your heart, and you will find it very, very difficult to leave.
