Book A Hotel

Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa Milan (or Milano) is just a few steps from the Haute fashion district in Milan and the bohemian Brera area. The lobby here is probably the grandest in Milan. This enormous marble hallway, complete with pillars and a curved marble staircase, does indeed feel palatial, and the beautiful flower arrangements adorning every surface reflect the elegance and refinement this luxury hotel provides. Beyond the grandeur, the reasons to stay here are its location, the glorious views many of the suites share over Milan, and the best and largest spa in Milan.

Location Of Palazzo Parigi

Many of the major hotels in Milan are located in the heart of the city, hidden up pretty cobbled side streets and steps from the designer stores. Palazzo Parigi is about a 5-minute walk from the designer stores and cobbled streets and a short stroll from the main square and cathedral in Milan.

We flew in on British Airways into Milan Linate airport, which is around a 20-minute drive from the city center (around €90 EUR). By comparison, if we had arrived at Milam Malpensa, the taxi journey would have taken an hour and cost around €200 EUR).

Style & Character

Palazzo Parigi offers a quintessential Milanese experience with a contemporary Parisian twist. In fact, when you step inside, the hotel will remind you of many of the top hotels in Paris. The gloriously high ceilings in the communal areas and foyer, the beautiful bar, and the photogenic restaurant looks out on a small but perfectly formed garden.

Even the lift here is grand, with a mural of the historic covered shopping streets in Milan and the sky painted on its roof. The only bit of the hotel that doesn’t feel like a Parisian Palace is the Spa, which is like stepping into Marrakech, with creamy candlelit corridors and relaxation areas full of natural light and with views looking out at lush greenery.

Service & Facilities

The impressive Spa is a big reason to stay at Palazzo Parigi. At 1,700 square meters, this is the largest Spa in Milan. The Spa offers numerous treatment rooms, and with the exception of the candlelit corridors, the whole wellness area is bathed in natural light. The pool here is large by Milanese standards, with big windows and luxuriously padded loungers flanking each side. Beyond the pool is a jacuzzi, a steam room, a sauna, and a shower next to an ice machine so you can shock your body into wellness.

Numerous massage rooms line the Moroccan corridors, each with a theme that takes you to a different country without even leaving Milan. And the relaxation area is large with comfy sofas, drinks, and fruit, along with other light bites. The Spa also has a Private Hammam and Valmont skin treatments.

Below the spa is a very large gym area with every machine and weight set imaginable. The overwhelming feeling in the Spa is of light, space, and views, and it is, without any doubt, the best spa in Milan.

Rooms

Palazzo Parigi offers a quintessential Milanese experience with a contemporary Parisian twist. All 54 guest rooms and 42 suites (including eight signature apartments with panoramic views) are distinctively appointed with a balcony or terrace.

For me, the rooms here are all about the views. While many luxury hotels in Milan are hidden down side streets and lacking in natural light, Palazzo Parigi is a much taller building which means the suites on the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors have incredible views across the whole of Milan. These suites offer large terraces, which are mainly inset into the building, so even if like me, you are not good with heights, the terraces feel solid and safe. Some are large enough to house planters and trees as well as seats, tables, and loungers.

We stayed in a wonderful two-bedroom suite with those marvelous views, but the views aren’t the only thing I love about the rooms at Palazzo Parigi. In our suite, the feel was ultra-modern. Light wood floors and creamy furnishings and walls are complemented by sandstone-colored bathrooms with huge walk-in showers and generous baths. The amenities are Clarins which are wonderful quality, and our suite had roses dotted about, which added splatters of pink to this modern setting.

Food & Drink

The bar and restaurant at Palazzo Parigi are grand and face out towards their private garden. There’s a large bar at one end of the grand bar area, and the setting is popular with both locals and businessmen and women. The bar leads onto the beautifully furnished Gastronomic restaurant, and there’s also a classy high-ceilinged glass atrium to sit out in. I imagine in the summer, the seats on the terrace are packed, but by mid-October, the weather wasn’t warm enough to use these.

We had a wonderful breakfast here with eggs Benedict, yogurt, beautiful fruit, and delicious pre-prepared croissant sandwiches containing ham and cheese and salmon and rocket. While these sandwiches don’t sound like much, they were a real highlight for me as they were utterly delicious and offered something a little different and French to the breakfast experience. The service and the quality of the food was, as you would expect, first-class. If you’d like a free breakfast here, along with other free benefits, you need to book via our luxury travel concierge.

Conclusion

Palazzo Parigi feels like a grand Parisian Paris in a sophisticated residential area of Milan. The views from the rooms and suites here, in my opinion, are the best in Milan, and their airiness gives you room to breathe in what can be quite an overwhelming and vibrant city. The Spa is also the best in Milan. If you like Paris a great Spa and if views are important to you, you would do well to choose Palazzo Parigi.
