The Circus is tucked right in the creative heart of Berlin, surrounded by art galleries, local designer boutiques, lively bars and restaurants, and near to the border which once divided the East and the West. You are across the road from Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station and the Rosenthaler Platz area, which is home to some of the city’s most popular bars and restaurants. Hackescher Markt, with its boutique shops, is just a 9-minute stroll, and you are 2km from the Berlin Wall Memorial.

Style & Character

The contemporary vibe hits you as you enter. This place is all about individual design, bright and cheerful colors, fabulous patterns, and hand-crafted individual pieces of furniture. It makes it fun to stay here, and the Circus seems to be right at home in this dynamic city.

Service & Facilities

There are lots of options open to you with accommodation at the Circus Hotel & Apartments. The Circus includes three distinct properties that house up to 440 guests – The Circus Hotel, The Circus Apartments, and the Hostel. A common thread runs through all the accommodations, one of a genuine, service-orientated approach to hospitality. They pride themselves on treating their guests as they would wish to be treated. The founders are passionate travelers, and it shows! The hotel boasts some charming communal areas. There’s a courtyard that makes a very popular spot for a morning coffee and the rooftop terrace where you can relax, admire the sunset, or take a yoga class. The lobby – a delightful oasis of sofas and hanging plants, and finally, the library is perfect for those contemplative, peaceful moments. If you want some help occupying your time, the team organizes some excellent activities, including tours, tastings, readings, and performances.

Rooms

Which accommodation you pick really depends on your budget and how much you like to spread out! The hotel offers economy, single, twin, and double rooms, but discerning travelers should definitely check out the suites; king-sized beds, fab wallpaper, rainfall showers, free Wi-Fi, and a work and seating area make this a very comfortable and very trendy place to stay. If you want to spread out further, perhaps if you are traveling with the family or are in Berlin for a prolonged stay, the apartments are definitely worth considering. They are luxurious, fully serviced, and offer spacious, bright rooms, your own kitchen, and a terrace or balcony. Tech fans will be happy here too. There’s a loaded iPad, a multimedia docking station, flat-screen TV with a Blu-ray player, and free Wi-Fi. The concierge team is a wonderful extra component to your stay and can arrange a washing service, fresh flowers, tailor-made city tours, a private fitness trainer, or a massage.

Food & Drink

In terms of drinks and dining, The Circus Lounge on the ground floor of The Circus Hotel features a library and garden courtyard serving sumptuous breakfasts 0800–1100, including homemade granola, eggs how you like them, vegan scramble and their exclusive cruffins – a mix of croissant and muffin that is sure to become a breakfast classic. Codos at The Circus Hotel has a view out across Rosenthaler Platz, and serves warm breakfast and brunch-style options throughout the day and into the evening, as well as organic baked goods from the neighborhood bakery. Finally, Lost My Voice at The Circus Hotel creates delectable drinks created by a passionate team of bartenders from 1800 daily. Across the road at the hostel, you’ll find The Circus Café at The Circus Hostel, a great spot for a craft beer out on the terrace in the summer, or a cozy glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate in winter. There’s even a Microbrewery in the basement bar that comes alive at night where they make various beers – and if you’re not a beer fan, that’s ok – they also make their own gin! And if your looking for something a little different and fun, check out their Hoff Museum, dedicated to the Baywatch star with a long and strange connection to this amazing city.
