Book A Hotel

This article reviews hotels on the Gold Coast with a club or executive lounge. By reviewing each of these club lounges, I conclude which hotel club lounge comes in at the top and which hotels I would select as having the best club lounge in Brisbane.

It’s worth noting that if you book a stay at many of these hotels through our luxury travel concierge you will get lounge access for free along with all our other complimentary benefits.

1. InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort

Unlike any other venue, the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand and graceful architecture of a Queensland estate. The resort is located a short distance from the tourist mecca of the Gold Coast and within easy access to both Brisbane and Gold Coast Airports. This is probably the best resort hotel with an executive club lounge on the Gold Coast.

Each of the 243 rooms rests behind plantation shutters with polished parquetry floors, flat-screen entertainment, and high-speed internet access. Relax on shadowed verandahs perfect for soaking up the picture-postcard views over the beach lagoon pool to the marina.

Guests can enjoy award-winning culinary delights, indulge in a day spa treatment, or stroll through The Marine Village. If fitness is what you are after, master your swing at either of the two internationally renowned championship golf courses -The Pines and The Palms, or work out at the Country Club. Have fun at the theme parks for a day or experience the richness of nature with the hinterland only minutes away.

You can see what we have experienced in terms of food and drink at the club lounge at InterContinental O2 in London and the club lounge at InterContinental Park Lane which will give you an idea of what to expect. This InterContinental club lounge will undoubtedly be one of the best, with a substantial hot and cold buffet, a la carte breakfast, evening canapes, and alcoholic drinks.

2. Sofitel Brisbane Central

Book an executive room at the Sofitel Brisbane Central and get access to the excellent executive lounge in this hotel. Not only does this Sofitel have a great location, possibly the best in Brisbane (many rooms look down on Anzac Square), but it also has a very good gym and pool, and, we think, the best club lounge in Brisbane.

It’s worth splashing out to stay on the executive level with access to the executive club lounge. The staff here is excellent and treats guests well; the food here is outstanding and filling. Club Sofitel offers some of the best city views in Brisbane, being on level 30. The Brisbane Club is Australia’s largest executive club lounge and is spread over two floors.

There is a great range of buffet-style dishes in the morning and evening. The breakfast offers everything you would expect from a five-star club, from cheeses to scrambled eggs, and there is a coffee machine that makes nice coffees. The ‘pre-dinner canapés in the executive lounge (including unusually Escargot snails) are extensive enough to fill you up as there is enough for a complete meal.

The lounge has a great atmosphere with lovely candles set out at night, soft “luxury hotel music” in the background, and as much champagne as you can drink. Although the hotel is in Australia, everything has a tinge of French, which helps with the sophistication! You also get turn-down service with your executive room each night, which is a nice touch.

Le Club AccorHotels Platinum members (and registered guests staying in the same room) enjoy free access to the Executive Lounge, whatever room you book. Otherwise, you need to book an executive room to access this lounge. We have also reviewed the Sofitel Sydney club lounge in our best club lounges in Sydney article.

3. Pullman King George Square, Brisbane

Pullman Brisbane club lounge is offered to Accor premium and VIP guests. Serving a full deluxe buffet breakfast in the morning, then transforming into canapés and drinks in the evening. This is one of the best places to start your day or begin your evening in Brisbane and is one of Brisbane’s best hotel Executive Lounges.

The lounge is open 6:00 am – 10:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 6:30 am – 10:00 pm Saturday to Sunday.

Le Club AccorHotels Platinum members (and registered guests staying in the same room) enjoy free access to the Executive Lounge, whatever room they book. Otherwise, you need to book an executive room to access this lounge.

4. Brisbane Hilton Hotel

Book an Executive Room at the Hilton and get club lounge access included. This hotel is located in the middle of Brisbane’s shopping precinct. Take the lift down to Queen Street Mall, and the Wintergarden Shopping Centre, and QueensPlaza and the Myer Centre are just a short walk away.

Their exclusive Executive Lounge offers complimentary continental breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, and evening drinks and canapés. If you upgrade to one of the Executive Rooms, you can enjoy stunning city views and exclusive access to the Executive Lounge on level 25. Breakfast is great here and extensive with all the usuals, pastries, and healthy choices.

Drinks and canapes are served in the Executive Lounge in the evening to the backdrop of gorgeous city views. It can get busy in the lounge, so be aware of this, but canapes are decent, and the array of booze is good. Drinks include Chandon bubbly, red and white wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, snacks, hot and cold canapés and a make-your-own Caesar salad bar.

5. Brisbane Marriott Hotel

The Brisbane Marriott Hotel also has a club lounge. This is a Bonvoy points earn and burn hotel and is your best option in Brisbane if you favor this loyalty scheme.

This 5-star luxury hotel is situated right in the hub of Brisbane city, between the CBD and the trendy cafes, restaurants, and boutiques of Fortitude Valley. Brisbane Marriott Hotel is also superbly located next to Brisbane’s best riverfront dining, shopping, and transport facilities.

With 263 luxurious guest rooms and four suites offering spectacular views of the Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs, iconic Brisbane River, or City Skyline, this hotel is a good choice. They say that “all travelers, regardless of whether they are traveling for business or leisure, will enjoy complimentary valet car parking when staying in one of our Executive level rooms. Additionally, they will also receive complimentary continental breakfasts, evening drinks, canapés, and desserts, all served in the elegant and sophisticated Executive Lounge. Located on the 26th floor, this exclusive area is a place where guests can enjoy the little luxuries whilst relaxing in a very stylish and comfortable environment overlooking the beautiful views of Brisbane.”

Brisbane Marriott hotel is also home to a world-recognized day spa, The Dome Spa Retreat. Open 7-days per week, this is a popular spa for brides and their bridesmaids to get pampered for the wedding. For guests looking to rest and relax, the hotel’s Grecian-inspired pool deck is the perfect area for guests to take some time out. Featuring a spa, sauna, sundeck, fully equipped gymnasium, and stunning views of the Story Bridge.

Executive rooms are all on the hotel’s upper floors and include access to the Executive Lounge, which takes up most of the 26th floor and is open from 6:00 am to midnight seven days a week. The lounge itself is a bit sterile, with comfy but functional chairs, tables, magazines, and newspapers available, but the food is decent. Breakfast is served 6:00 – 10:00 am and offers a wide range of cereals, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, and fruit. In the evening, canapes and nibbles, beer, wine, and spirits are available but being that the environment is not super snazzy, you are better off staying at the Sofitel with its atmospheric stylish lounge (reviewed above). In the Marriott, coffee, tea, and light refreshments are available throughout the day, but the glorious view across Brisbane is the main advantage. In most other ways, this lounge is rather average.

6. The Westin Brisbane

The Westin Brisbane is a Rewards Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy hotel that has a city-center location, with a superb outdoor pool and a location near corporate offices and popular attractions, including the Botanic Gardens, Suncorp Stadium, and the Treasury Casino.

Relax after a busy day in the spa, work out in the hotel’s 24-hour fitness center, or take a dip in the glittering rooftop pool. Popular dining options include the first swim-up pool bar in Brisbane, a Jazz bar, and a signature restaurant with private dining.

7. NEXT Hotel Brisbane

There’s a 24-hour gym and a 20-meter swimming pool, which shares a cool space with the hotel bar on the Club Lounge level. They play great music here in the evening, and it has great city views. The Club Lounge also offers showers and nap pods.

The Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa on the Gold Coast does not offer an executive club lounge.
