1. Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok

Described as a charismatic, edgy hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok channels the energy of Bangkok’s vibrant pulse fusing raw, urban intensity with a light-hearted spirit and distinguished design.

Each of the 362 hotel rooms, including 131 serviced residences, has everything you need and more for a good night’s rest. Stylish facilities include a pool that overlooks the lush Langsuan oasis and a luxurious spa that will ease your senses.

Located in Bangkok’s city center, where the city’s top attractions are only a stone’s throw away, this hotel offers all mod cons plus turn-down services, complete with little treats left on your pillow. Rooms here are particularly appealing, being spacious with great views. Chromecast is available so you can mirror Netflix, Youtube, and so forth from your phone to your TV. The bathrooms are large and stylish too. Interestingly, this Kimpton is pet friendly, so you might notice guests parading their prized pets around the hotel’s communal areas which is rather nice.

2. Kimpton Aysla Mallorca

If you dream of a modern resort-style boutique hotel in Mallorca with a freeform pool surrounded by palm trees, snow-white cabanas and loungers shaded with soft white parasols, you may just be dreaming of Kimpton Aysla Mallorca. This modern sanctuary of calm and well-being in Santa Ponsa is just 14km from Palma, nestled among lush native gardens imbued with Mallorcan light.

This Kimpton offers a progressive take on wellness resort life, where active leisure meets utter relaxation and touches of tradition blend with contemporary living. The aforementioned outdoor pool is complemented by a gorgeous modern indoor pool just in case you stay during imperfect weather. Eateries are dotted with tropical plants and cacti and all communal areas are designed in chic creamy ones.

This Kimpton offers the perfect venue for an inspiring morning workout, a laid-back breakfast, the chance to a plunge in the day’s pool of choice, and a relaxed game of afternoon Tennis at Mallorca Country Club or a round of golf at Golf Santa Ponsa. This is a place to escape to the beach or take a quick hike and to spend balmy evenings on the terrace with fine organic wine, great food, and sparkling conversation.

3. The Kimpton Fitzroy London

Typically Kimpton hotels are offbeat and eccentric. The Kimpton Fitzroy London can be found in a Grade II listed iconic landmark building restored to its former glory. It stands proudly and rather spectacularly overlooking the square. Originally opened in 1898, the historic building underwent a £75 million renovation and now takes its name from Charles Fitzroy Doll’s original architect.

Climb the steps (yes, the door will be held open for you), and you’ll find yourself in the most stunning entrance hall, carved from marble and limestone with pillars, a sweeping staircase, and a huge mosaic floor. It’s quite a sight and is left free of people checking in and out by the clever placement of the reception desk just around the corner.

The 334 guest rooms and suites are beautiful spaces flooded with natural light, which are designed to make you swoon, relax, and then feel instantly at home. They all include large flat-screen TVs with useful hotel information pages, extra-comfortable beds with soft linens, Nespresso machines, and tea-making facilities, as well as a very welcome tuck box with savory and sweet treats. The tech is good too, as well as the Wi-Fi. Our room had USB sockets by the bed and a DAB digital radio. The bathrooms are a joy to behold; sleek marble and nice and roomy with toiletries by acclaimed perfume designer, The Perfumer’s Story. We had a large rainfall shower, while some include soaking tubs.

When choosing your room, you have many choices; they range from 172 ft² City Singles to a 915 ft² suite! If you are visiting just the two of you, the Superior Doubles are a good choice, although I would suggest the Deluxe Park View for that bit more space and the view. If budget allows, the suites will really make your stay a memorable one; significantly larger than the rooms, they also include living spaces and two televisions!

Eateries at the Kimpton Fitzroy include Neptune, an upscale seafood restaurant; Fitz’s, a glamourous cocktail lounge, Burr & Co., a coffee house, and the divine Palm Court, which serves afternoon tea and light suppers.

Start the day with a huge breakfast at Neptune, where they serve that ultimate combination of both a generous buffet and an à la carte menu too. The restaurant is a sea of art deco angles, rose shades with gold accents, and lots of greenery; the result is beautifully sophisticated and elegant.

You can also opt for a casual pastry in Burr & Co., and The Palm Court is simply gorgeous, and I can’t imagine it’s possible to enter without smiling and falling a little in love. I wanted to describe it as an orangery, but this isn’t technically correct. Rather, it has a large vaulted glass ceiling, but somehow orangery seems to conjure a more appropriately romantic vibe. Every inch is packed with plants. There’s so much light, large sofas, and lots of beautiful things. Afternoon tea is the classic meal to take here, but we found it just as inviting at night when it’s quieter but no less beautiful.

For dinner, return to Neptune to tuck into local seafood accompanied by a carefully curated wine list; the raw bar, which would not only struggle to look chicer, also has a reputation as the best in London.

A particular appeal is Rotterdam’s also blossoming dining scene, with a growing number of Michelin-starred restaurants, hip coffee shops, healthy brunch spots, and traditional European food halls. Markthal has100+ restaurants and vendors and Fenix Food Factory, which showcases local and artisanal products in a warehouse in the former red-light district.
