Book A Hotel
If you have a large family and want to get away to the fabulous French countryside, a luxury hotel may not work for you. You may prefer to rent a mansion, all to yourselves, for a week of frolicking on the lawns and by the pool.

    Location

There is no more splendid a french mansion than Le Clos de la Garelle, located on a 23-hectare domain situated between the towns of Crozes Hermitage and Larnage. The exact position of the house is a few steps from Tain-l’Hermitage and Tournon-sur-Rhône, just South of Lyon.

    Style & Character

The main building is dated from 1860 and passed down four generations. It was completely renovated in 2020-2021 and is now available for rent for the first time by the owners of Hôtel de la Villeon, a luxury hotel which opened in 2015 and is located approximatively 12 minutes away.

    Rooms

Le Clos de la Garelle can accommodate 12 people across 6 beautiful double bedrooms and offers modern bathrooms with shower or bathtub with shower, air conditioning, large beds, TV, Wi-Fi, etc. Each room has access to terraces or a private balcony.

The mansion has four floors accessible by elevator and various reception rooms, including a dining room, a living room, a smoking room, a bar, a large and fully equipped kitchen, and a backstage professional kitchen.

The many terraces allow direct access to the house through the living room or the kitchen and, if the weather’s nice, meals can be enjoyed outside.

    Service & Facilities

There’s a gorgeous private swimming pool set within the lawns, which will cool you down on hot summer days as it is un-heated, and a hammam to relax in.

If you decide to book, one dinner prepared by a private chef is included, with a menu to suit you and selected in advance. You will also have access to the mansion’s private wine cellar. Daily breakfast is provided as well as basic groceries (oil, mustard, salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, coffee, tea, etc.). Your own member of staff will deliver and set up the breakfast, keep the pool sparkling and service the rooms and the public areas.

If lounging by the pool isn’t enough for you, the staff can arrange private wine tastings and visits to wineries with local winemakers, or if you want to explore, electric bicycles can be arranged. Cooking workshops can be organized by your private chef, set up around the wood-fired oven. Your private chef can also provide cocktails and additional meals during your stay.

If you're looking for a luxury boutique hotel hidden in the Rhone Valley within the Ardeche region and oozing with charm, look no further than Hotel de la Villeon. While the rooms are delightful and the location is perfect, we particularly love the garden at Hôtel de la Villeon. Laid out over three levels, it contains rose bushes, Indian lilac, and wisteria and leads to the old fortifications of Tournon. The gardens end with spectacular views over the Rhone river and Hermitage hills.

The concierge of Hôtel de la Villeon is available for all special requests, and a housekeeper, chauffeur, bodyguard, and babysitter are also available on request so all your needs will be met, whatever your wishes.

A stay here is truly perfect if you and your loved ones want something a little exclusive, away from the hustle and bustle of a luxury hotel.
