It is a mishmash of different-sized streets. Drive down an avenue, and a moment later, you find yourself squeezed into a tiny street together with scores of cars and motorbikes.
Jakarta is the seat of the national government and the provincial government, Indonesia’s political center, and Indonesia’s national finance and trade hub. It’s an exciting city that is alive 24/7. The downside of Jakarta is the horrendous traffic, making Bangkok look like a walk in the park! Ensure your luxury hotel is located where you want to be, or you might spend much of your stay in taxis.
If you only plan to overnight in Jakarta on your way to Bali, we have also reviewed the best executive club lounges in Bali and your flight arrives during peak hours (4:00 – 6:00 pm in the evening) you might want to consider a hotel that is close to the airport like the Sheraton. It isn’t ultra-luxury but could save you many hours in traffic jams.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Jakarta. I list the lounges in Jakarta that we consider the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or upgrade to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.
1. Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jakarta
Keraton at the Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is a Starwood Luxury Collection property and part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio if you want to earn or spend Marriott Bonvoy points. It is the best Starwood and Marriott Bonvoy property in the city, and it has a super club lounge with some of the best club lounge food in Asia.
The Keraton is both a hotel and residence, which has a beautiful lobby with high ceilings and a massive chandelier. Plus points of this hotel are the fast Wi-Fi, the friendly staff, and a great location attached to a mall with some nice areas to walk around near the hotel.
Book an executive room, and you will receive complimentary breakfast in the restaurant and access to the executive lounge on level five. Rooms are modern and spacious with comfy sofas, an ottoman, a desk for working, a large bathroom with double sinks, a tub, a separate shower, Remede branded toiletries, and an illy coffee machine.
Breakfast at Bengawan Restaurant features an extensive buffet and an a la carte menu for things like an omelet. The club lounge here is called Lima 5 and is located on the fifth floor, open daily from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm (so no breakfast is actually served within the lounge). The look is stylish with marble floors, although it could do with a nice thick rug on the floor. There is no breakfast here (as outlined above) or evening canapes. Instead, you have a menu that you can order from as and when you want.
Items include Japanese beef, pan-fried barramundi, beef bacon wrapped in lamb, Indonesian chicken broth, Asian cured salmon, Brie or pumpkin or tofu or garden salad, burger, mushroom pasta, tuna tataki, Miso or tomato soup, chicken breast sandwich with fries, and salad, chicken, duck ragout and about ten other dishes for main! Portions are delicious but small, so you are encouraged to order four things to make a meal. There are also dessert choices, cocktails, mocktails, wine, sparkling wine, spirits, and beers to pick from, along with water, juices, fizzy drinks, and so forth. All the food in the lounge and the service are excellent.
Other things to mention about the hotel is the superb indoor pool for guests (and an outdoor one for residents that guests can’t use) along with a gym.
Overall, this club lounge has the best food of any club lounge we have ever experienced. You certainly don’t need to eat out. The breakfast buffet spread in the restaurant is also brilliant, which is why we have listed the Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel, as the second-best luxury hotel club lounge in Jakarta.

2. Four Seasons Jakarta
Four Seasons Jakarta claims the top spot in our listing with the very best club lounge. This is the newest, best-kept, and best hotel in Jakarta, but it lies along one of the busiest roads in Jakarta, and the traffic during peak hours is a nightmare. The location is not inspiring as it is not connected to any shopping mall, but there is a shuttle to the nearby Pacific Place Mall. On the plus side, the rooms are huge and gorgeous, and the service is excellent.
Whilst this Four Seasons hotel does not have an allocated room for its club lounge, so it misses out on our top spot in this listing. It offers an unusual club lounge concept.
Standard suites do not have any way of getting club lounge access. Still, because this hotel is almost unanimously voted to be the best hotel in Jakarta, it is worth considering even without club lounge access. If you DO want a club lounge-type offering, you will need to book a Club Premier Suite. Then, the entire Hotel is your executive lounge. If you book a Club Premier Suites, rather than restricting guests to just one club lounge, Premier Club guests can have breakfast in the traditional restaurant or the comfort of their suite and can take their evening cocktails in the (excellent) Nautilus Bar, Library, Palm Court Terrace or on the 20th-floor balcony of the Alto Restaurant. This is all included in the price of the suites and is almost a “ghost club lounge” within the hotel. Although there is no club lounge room per se, the whole hotel is your club lounge, and you can eat and drink for free across the hotel at allocated “club lounge” times.

3. Fairmont Jakarta
The Fairmont is a great choice in Jakarta. It is probably the third-best luxury hotel choice in Jakarta, with loads of excellent food and drink options within the hotel. It is connected to the stylish shopping mall, Plaza Senayan, and you can walk across the road to another (Senayan City). There’s even a golf course nearby.
Offering 380 well-appointed guest rooms & suites with an incredible view of the city skyline, Fairmont Jakarta is ideally located in Senayan, close to the Stock Exchange, Jakarta Convention Center, and steps away from shops & restaurants. The service is top-notch, and the hard product is superior and more modern than the current Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton hotel options below.
The Fairmont Gold Lounge and the top floor Gold rooms are particularly special. Fairmont Gold guests experience is a VIP ‘hotel within a hotel’ experience. 4. Mandarin Oriental Jakarta
Located within a short walk from great shops and restaurants in one of the best locations in Jakarta, The Mandarin Oriental Jakarta is situated at the edge of the city’s upmarket Menteng residential neighborhood and close to Jakarta’s financial and diplomatic district. Spend evenings at the MO Bar, one of the city’s most fashionable nightspots. The fitness center and the spa are also great, but the pool is not very good for doing laps.
The hotel itself is currently slightly dated, much like the two Ritz-Carlton hotels below, but the views across the hotel are fabulous. They extend from the iconic Welcome Monument over the city. Club Suites are particularly tempting and come with access to the exclusive Executive Lounge on the 21st floor. There are fantastic city views and a bunch of complimentary benefits, including high tea, evening cocktails, and appetizers. Guests staying in the Mandarin Oriental Suites are invited to use their exclusive 21st-floor Executive Lounge. To enjoy far-reaching views over the city and a range of complimentary benefits. Access to the lounge and its related benefits are also available to other guests to upgrade to for a supplement of $75 USD per night, and the upgrade is well worth it.

5. The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Palace
Unusually, EVERY SINGLE ROOM at RC Pacific Place includes club lounge access. This makes this hotel a great choice for anyone looking for a luxury hotel with a club lounge. The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta Pacific Palace is located directly opposite the stock exchange and has a mall attached. It is located in the Central Business District, so you must drive to tourist sites like National Monument and Jakarta Old Town.
The advantages of Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Palace vs. Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan are that the rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Palace tend to be more luxurious, larger, and less dated, the club lounge is included in all rates, and the hotel has a more boutique feel with just 60 rooms in the hotel part, the rest being made up of a residential complex.
The club lounge offering includes five food “sittings” per day, basically continual meals with short gaps to change items. The dining area is small because this is primarily a residence hotel. There is also a dining area on a lower floor, which can be used by the public and has a great buffet. Service at the lounge is also very good, and most of the time, guests at this hotel receive their 10:00 am early check-in and late check-out if they book via our concierge.
6. The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan
The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan, is not in a great location and is not really near any tourist sites. The traffic from the airport to Mega Kuningan can be awful. You can spend as much as 2-2.5 hours in traffic jams to get to hotels in this area.
The Club Level at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan overlooks the skyline of Jakarta business district from the 26th floor. The Club Lounge features meeting rooms, a library, a billiard room, personalized business services, and continuous meals (5 throughout the day, all of high quality).

7. Kempinski Jakarta
The Kempinski Jakarta is smack bang in the middle of the city and is one of the best luxury hotel choices in the city with an executive club lounge.
The Ganesha Executive Club Lounge is free for guests who book into suites and is located on Floor 7, with views of Jakarta landmark, the Bundaran HI (Hotel Indonesia Roundabout). Guests in other rooms may pay an upgrade fee for access. Children aged 12 to 17 incur the full price per person. A cozy yet exclusive space, the Club Lounge offers a range of benefits, including separate check-in and check-out within the lounge, complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, light breakfast, high tea from early afternoon, evening drinks, and canapés, and a range of beverage options.
Club guests also enjoy various special offers on the spa and restaurants, use of the Ganesha Executive Boardroom for two hours during their stay, and the complimentary pressing of one item of business attire on arrival. A personal computer, both PC and Mac, with a printer is also available in the lounge. Late check-out is also offered as per availability, with access to Club Lounge until the time of departure.
8. Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta
Book a Horizon Club Room at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta and you will enjoy a luxurious room with exclusive Horizon Club lounge privileges. Each club room offers 45 m² / 484 ft² of luxury and is located on higher floors with stellar views of the Jakarta skyline or pool views. Plus, you get a spacious bathroom with luxurious L’Occitane bath products.
Access to the Horizon Club Lounge with its full range of benefits includes daily breakfast, all-day beverage service, evening cocktails, use of meeting room facilities, and late check-out (subject to availability). The Horizon Club Lounge is accessible 12 hours a day.
9. JW Marriott Jakarta
JW Marriott Jakarta has the major advantage of giving you free club lounge access if Marriott Bonvoy Platinum elite member and the food choices within the club lounge is excellent.
The JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta is located in the city’s Mega Kuningan business district and is a short walk to the shopping centers. It has an outdoor swimming pool, five dining options, and free Wi-Fi throughout.
While the rooms at this JW Marriott Jakarta do not match up to the two Ritz-Carlton hotels above, being smaller, although admittedly they do have floor-to-ceiling windows with nice views, this JW remains a great choice in Jakarta with great restaurants (Japanese, Cantonese, Buffet, Bar, Deli) and great club lounges. However, the security at this hotel can be quite invasive due to the hotel bombings.
If you have the choice (Elite members usually do), then have breakfast on the ground floor. There is a wonderful buffet spread, including a custom juice bar with fresh veg and fruits, Indian, Asian, Chinese, and Korean cuisine, noodles, fresh fruit, bakery bread and patisseries, and hot egg options, including omelets.
The breakfast in the club lounge is also good, plus there is a decent selection of evening snacks and free drinks, alcohol, and wines included.

10. InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah
InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is one of the newest luxury hotels in Jakarta which opened in early 2019, in the affluent Pondok Indah area in the heart of South Jakarta.
The latest addition to the InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts brand in Indonesia offers 311 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites furnished with soothing tones and timeless artwork. The rooms and suites provide sweeping views of Pondok Indah, the South Jakarta district known for its exclusive estates and reputable international schools.
Strategically integrated within a high-end commercial complex that includes a prominent shopping mall, office tower, family-friendly facilities, and a world-class golf course, the hotel is the perfect destination for both business and leisure travelers and weddings.

11. Grand Hyatt Jakarta
If you earn and spend World Of Hyatt points and want to stay in a Hyatt with a club lounge, the Grand Hyatt Jakarta is the hotel to choose from. It is situated Downtown with convenient access to office buildings, government offices, embassies, cultural attractions, and shopping malls.
The Grand Club Lounge is one of the best Hyatt club lounges in the world. Dinner is extensive, with a Caesar salad station, a number of other hot and cold items, and alcoholic and soft drinks. Food-wise, there is fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, and three hot dishes. In the morning, expect muffins, pastries, cereals, cold cuts including smoked salmon, salad items, eggs any way you like them from a live egg chef, fresh juices, etc. Really everything you could wish for from a breakfast.
The look is pleasant, with dark wood floors and functional seats. It won’t win any style prizes, but it is modern and light and a very pleasant place to hang out. Crucially, at both the evening and the breakfast meal times, there is more than enough good quality food to fill you up, so you don’t need to eat out if you don’t want to.
Other hotels in Jakarta with a club lounge include Le Méridien, which has an executive club lounge with very decent food options and free alcohol.
