Yet, it is characterized by an artistic richness and humble warmth that belie its megalopolis status.
Home to 6 UNESCO-accredited sites, over 100 museums, world-famous entertainment, and high-end shopping, Beijing is nothing if not impressive.
Luxury hotels in Beijing, China, include the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing, The St. Regis Beijing, Beijing, Hotel NUO, Rosewood Beijing, Shangri-La China World Summit Wing (no executive club lounge), Bulgari Hotel Beijing (no executive club lounge), The Peninsula Beijing (no executive club lounge), Park Hyatt Beijing (no executive club lounge), The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Aman Summer Palace (no executive club lounge), The Opposite House (no executive club lounge), along with numerous Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott Bonvoy properties.
I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Beijing. I list the lounges in Beijing that we consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail in turn so that you know what you will get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.
1. Four Seasons Beijing
The Four Seasons Beijing is conveniently located in the city’s top commercial and entertainment area. And yet, if you take a peaceful dip in its sunlit pool, you may forget that China’s bustling capital lies right outside the door. This inviting sanctum exudes a residential feel in each of its 313 rooms and suites, with personal touches such as iPod stations and espresso machines.
The great thing about this Four Seasons is the gorgeous club lounge, which is easily one of the best in the city. The worst thing about this hotel is that the location is a bit far from the sights due to the heavy Beijing traffic.
A great room choice is the corner suite, which is extremely spacious and has club access. Whichever room you choose, we think it’s worth upgrading to the executive club level for added perks. With panoramic views of the city skyline and Liangma River, the executive club lounge on the 26th floor at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing offers superb food and cocktails in the lounge or on the private terrace.
Once you have lounge access, you don’t need to go anywhere else for meals, as the food here is excellent, fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. They serve a light buffet breakfast in the morning and continue with plenty of snacks through dinner time. They have a light Afternoon mid-afternoon and, of course, a Happy Hour with cocktails, beer, and wine.
This private lounge boasts some of the best views of the city. If you are staying on business, you can host a private meeting in the library space. Be sure to stop by the studio of their Artist in Residence inside the Lounge and inquire about the art on display or try your hand at creating your own masterpiece. Extra perks also include complimentary pressing or laundry, the use of a private meeting room, and personalized check-in and check-out. This lounge is open every day from 6:30 am – 11:00 pm.
Beyond the lounge, Dim Sum goes upscale at Cai Yi Xuan restaurant, while the award-winning Mio serves modern Italian fare from an open kitchen, and there is an excellent spa, gym, and pool. The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff everywhere.
2. The Rosewood Beijing
The Rosewood Beijing is Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ first hotel in China, with 283 guest rooms that are warm, refined and serene. With residential-style layouts that are amongst the largest in the city, the hotel’s guestrooms evoke sensations of luxury apartment living. Natural finishes, spacious bathrooms, walk-in closets, and accessories with subtle Oriental overtones complete the sophisticated, home-like surroundings.
Rosewood Beijing also features six restaurants and lounges serving an array of authentic international cuisines, a Sense® spa with suites designed for overnight stays, an indoor swimming pool, gym, yoga studio, and 33,000 ft² of premier meeting and event space. The hotel offers more landscaped outdoor space than any other Beijing luxury hotel, with terraces, gardens, and balconies incorporated into the design of many of the restaurants and leisure facilities.
To get club lounge access at The Rosewood, you need to book a Club Premier Room. Spanning 50 m², Club Premier Rooms offer views of the iconic CCTV Tower and an option of a king-size bed or two twin beds. These spacious guestrooms are elegantly appointed with elegant art, books, and ornamentation for residential luxury. Guests staying in Club Premier Rooms enjoy exclusive access to the Manor Club, a tranquil atmosphere for guests seeking a private urban refuge.
The Manor Club lounge at The Rosewood Beijing is more like a private members club than a hotel lounge, with a total of 820 m² of space. One section in mushroom browns where you can grab a bite to eat. This section has comfortable lounge seating with natural fabrics. Wooden shelves and book displays line the walls, reminiscent of a private residence. The gallery is perfect for breakfast, tea, and cake in the afternoon. Located in the middle of the lounge, it offers breathtaking views of the swimming pool and the green outdoor terrace. A separate section has dark walls and a smoking lounge or jazz club atmosphere (without the jazz or smoke!) and comes complete with a pool table (pictured above). There is also a business area and a meeting room facility for business affairs. The entire club lounge is really unique and special, meaning that this lounge comes in joint first with the Four Seasons in terms of the best club lounge in Beijing.

For a real treat, their 24-hour Butler Services include packing and unpacking and a 24-hour Fragrance Butler offering a selection of men’s and ladies’ colognes and perfumes for spritzing.
3. The St. Regis Beijing
The St. Regis Beijing is a gorgeous luxury hotel located at Beijing’s most prestigious address, a few minutes from international embassies, leading business headquarters, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. The St. Regis is also located close to Ritan Park, which is quite nice, and there are also some decent restaurants north of the Citic building. Unfortunately, the hotel’s subway access isn’t great, and traffic can be bad on both Guanghua Rd and Chang’an Jie, so it’s hard to get around from this location.
The decor at the St. Regis is classic luxury (compared to the modern decor at, say, the Westin Beijing). The only hotel offering 24-hour butler service for all guests, which is available to fulfill any need, from arranging a relaxing treatment at the Iridium Spa to reserving a table at Danieli’s, voted Beijing’s finest Italian restaurant, or the authentic Chinese restaurant, Celestial Court. In the evenings, unwind at the Press Club Bar, where you are invited to enjoy the legendary Wine Ritual.
This is a Marriott Bonvoy property, so you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points here, and when compared to the competition within this brand, it sits head and shoulders above your other options. As an example, the St. Regis is superior to the Westin in almost every aspect. It is marketed and priced a notch higher than the other hotels in the Marriott portfolio, and it is certainly worth the extra cost!
4. Hotel NUO Beijing
Hotel NUO Beijing is a unique design hotel that feels like it has stepped out of the Middle East, with dark wood and marble floors, unusual yellow backlights, and rounded doorways that look like they are straight out of an Arabian palace.
Commanding a prestigious address on Chang’an Avenue, this five-star Beijing Hotel is the capital’s most historic luxury accommodation, standing proud through a century of boundless change. From the grand French facade to its broad marble staircase, polished 1920s dance floor, and 164 period-style rooms and suites, Beijing Hotel NUO seduces those with an eye for old-world sophistication.
At Hotel NUO, ‘Join the Club’ by indulging in the style and luxury of an NUO Club Room, offering all the benefits of an NUO Premier Room with the added privilege of access to NUO Hotel’s Executive Club Lounge.
Club Rooms are located on floors 23 to 28 and are 41 to 48 m² in size, in king-sized or twin bed configurations with goose-down bedding, a pillow menu, and 300-thread count bed linens. Clubrooms at Hotel NUO also include a spacious Ming-styled seating area and an executive writing desk with artwork originating from NUO’s honorary art consultant, Zeng Fanzhi’s paintings on paper, overlooking the sleeping area.
Separated by sliding screen doors and bathed in natural light, the marble bathroom invites you to soak in its oval bathtub with views across the city (the bath is awesomely right by the window!) as you ponder lines of poetry by Ming scholar Wen Zhengming, carved delicately into the wall. If you are worried about the pollution in Beijing, NUO has it covered. Thanks to a state-of-the-art air purification system and advanced noise-canceling technologies, a full night of restful sleep is assured.
NUO Hotel’s Executive Club Lounge on the 25th floor offers seating next to floor-to-ceiling windows and dark wood floors, which frame a sophisticated space ideal for work or rest. Leather seats sit at tables, ideal for eating the generous spread of food in this club lounge.
You get breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner with a cocktail hour. The selection of food and drink is impressive. In the evening, it includes marvelous dishes, including some delicious mini hamburgers, chicken, and other meat in skewers, plus lots and lots of mini desserts. The cocktails are the real deal, too, in pretty glasses with fruit hanging out of them.
At breakfast, you have eggs made to order, bread, your “full English” or “full American” breakfast choice with lots of hot dishes, as well as a continental offering, including fruit, cereals, and pastries.
There is also a big pool and fitness area to finish off with, making this one of Beijing’s best hotels with a club lounge.
5. InterContinental Beijing Sanlitun
I am a major fan of InterContinental club lounges. The InterContinental brand offers some of the best club lounges in London and also offers one of the top club lounges in Beijing too.
The InterContinental Beijing Sanlitun is located in a very lively area and is an impressive hotel with beautiful contemporary rooms. The location is good, with a few small 7-11 style supermarkets around the corner. The nearest subway stations are a 7-10 minute walk away for touristy trips and not just around the corner, which is a pain. It is worth mentioning that if you are looking for a cheap luxury hotel in Beijing, you may also want to consider the nearby Conrad, which is priced far more reasonably.
This hotel’s lobby is impressive, with a double (maybe triple) height ceiling and ultra-modern style. A major highlight here is the gym and pool facilities, some of the best of any urban hotel we have stayed in, with really cool yellow lighting and infinity out to the urban skyline.
The Club InterContinental Lounge in Beijing occupies some of the 21st floor and is spacious with a range of seating, great views, and a really good breakfast buffet.
Continental breakfast is a lavish open buffet with eggs to order a la carte, including classics like eggs Florentine, along with a truly impressive breakfast buffet that includes hot dishes, cereal, a salad bar, fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries, and bread. There are also snacks and drinks throughout the day and enough food in the evening to make up main-style dishes and fill you up.
InterContinental Beijing Beichen within the Olympic Business District is your alternate InterContinental in Beijing. It is interconnected with the China National Convention Center and near the Olympic Forest Park, National Olympic Stadium, and China National Tennis Center. For the location, InterContinental Beijing Sanlitun is much better, so when comparing the InterContinental Beijing Beichen vs. Sanlitun, we would always pick Sanlitun.
6. The Ritz-Carlton Beijing
Ritz-Carlton hotels often offer the best club lounges in most cities, but this is not the case in Beijing, as there are so many excellent hotels in Beijing offering club lounges. The Ritz-Carlton Beijing offers The Ritz-Carlton Club, which can be accessed if you book one of 61 luxuriously appointed Club rooms and 38 suites. Although this is undoubtedly a luxury hotel, being British, I find the decor a bit too much like home and old-fashioned, and I prefer the decor in hotels 1 to 6 outlined above.
Elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites at the Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, reflect an English country manor theme, offering a quiet haven of indulgence with the finest linens, restful beds, distinctive furnishings, and the latest technology options. Marble bathroom décor is complemented with luxurious Asprey bath essentials. Dual vanities allow couples their own space. The centerpiece of the bathroom features an oversized deep soaking tub with an inset TV. A separate independent shower provides perfection for beginning your day.
The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge offers a dedicated and knowledgeable concierge who will attend to all of your individual needs in a well-appointed, relaxed lounge environment. With complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access and business center service, a comfortable place for you to conduct business, plan an outing, or simply unwind.
The Club Lounge opens 24 hours a day with the club concierge team available from 6:30 am – 11:00 pm and five complimentary food and Beverage presentations plus fine selections of coffee and tea available whenever needed. Breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, and light snacks mid-afternoon, and you can enjoy hor d’ouvres with dessert & cordials in the evening. Complimentary alcoholic beverages are served from early in the evening.
7. Grand Hyatt Beijing
If you are looking for luxury, the Grand Hyatt Beijing is not in the same league as the hotels outlined above, but this is all taken into account in the price.
The Grand club lounge at the Grand Hyatt Beijing is definitely worth the paid upgrade. It is located on the 17th floor and is very large with floor-to-ceiling windows to one side (although the views aren’t very special). The breakfast spread is good continental, with loads of smoked salmon, bread cheeses, cold meats, cereals, muffins, and cooked-to-order eggs off the menu, plus two types of dim sum. During the day, cookies and fruit, along with soft and hot drinks, are available.
In the evening, happy hour is offered with snacks and complimentary alcoholic beverages. Again, the spread is pretty good, with cheese, crackers, sushi, spring rolls, quiche, finger foods, and desserts.
This Grand Hyatt costs 17,000 World Of Hyatt loyalty points per night for a club room or 12,000 World Of Hyatt loyalty points per night for an ordinary room if you want to redeem a stay here.
The Park Hyatt Beijing is 20,000 World of Hyatt points per night. The Park Hyatt is a much more luxurious hotel, but it does not have a club lounge.
8. The Ritz-Carlton Beijing Financial Street
The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street is a sparkling modern glass tower in a location that is better for business travelers than families and couples on vacation and the look is much more modern than the other Ritz-Carlton in Beijing (in position 7), outlined above.
Important tourist and cultural attractions, including the Forbidden City, are nearby. Still, guests should take time to enjoy the hotel’s vast array of creature comforts, including sumptuous guestrooms and suites, an extensive health club and spa, and three exceptional restaurants.
The club lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Beijing Financial Street is designed following Feng-Shui principles and contemporary Chinese style to help ensure success when doing business in the Chinese capital city and heart of the financial district.
Located on the 18th floor, this club lounge is elegant, with beautiful views of the Beijing skyline and a dedicated concierge at your service. Furnished to resemble a comfortable, homely living area, it is well stocked with books and various international magazines and newspapers and comprises a buffet area, lounge section, and library room. The club lounge also features five food and beverage presentations daily, showcasing the hotel’s cuisines. It’s the perfect place for morning coffee, a midday snack, or a glass of wine before dinner.
Only guests booking club rooms and registered on the Club level can access the floor through the use of a special elevator key, ensuring a sense of personal security.
9. Fairmont Beijing
The Fairmont Beijing has indulgent suites, impeccable service, decadent décor, and authentic cuisine.
The Fairmont offers elite services, including their indoor heated swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna, a selection of 2 restaurants and 2 bars, a fitness center with techno gym equipment, personal trainers, and private yoga instructors at hand, as well as the Willow Stream Spa, which has been rated one of the best in China.
In total, the hotel offers 222 suites, each with air purifiers from Blueair to provide the hotel with certified clean air and enhance the guests’ experience and well-being. Gold rooms are situated on the Gold floor and are 45 square meters, similarly sized to the deluxe rooms. The rooms are modern, with brown furnishings and an orange hue highlighted with traditional paintings of oranges.
The bathrooms slide open to the main bedroom, which gives a feeling of space and enables you to chat with your partner while you are lazing in the bath. This is a really nice feature if you have kids who like to spend hours in bath bubbles, as you can keep an eye on them from the bed.
The award-winning Fairmont Gold Lounge here is a particular highlight of the hotel. A nice added feature of this lounge is a personalized wake-up call with complimentary coffee, tea, juice etc.
Evening cocktail hour here includes canapes and hot items as well as sushi and noodles or rice, so there is enough for a light dinner. Unusually, the alcohol selection available in the evening, which includes sparkling, red, and wine wines and spirits, seems to be for free.
10. JW Marriott & Renaissance Beijing
There are 6 Marriott Bonvoy Properties in Beijing, which are Category 3, costing 17,500 points per night: the Beijing Marriott Changping, the Beijing Marriott Northeast, Renaissance Beijing Capital, Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing, JW Marriott Beijing, JW Marriott Beijing Central.
All have great club lounges, with the JW Marriott Beijing Central and the Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing having having marginally better lounges.
It is worth noting that the Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing probably has the best rooms and location of all these Marriott properties. The rooms are amazing, the lounge is huge, and the food is outstanding. For breakfast, they have a combination of Western and Chinese, and for the evening, once again, Western and Chinese. That said, the JWs are still a decent choice, with good breakfast and evening buffets.
