Book A Stay

Nested in the Heart of The High Desert, near Joshua Tree National, in Pioneertown, California Starlight Boutique Hotel & Resort has a guest list that includes Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, The Cure, Clint Eastwood, and Demi Moore.

Location

Just two hours’ drive from Los Angeles, or 45 minutes by helicopter (the hotel has its own private heliport), Starlight Boutique Hotel is ideally located for a peaceful weekend escape. Palm Springs International Airport is less than an hour away and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service if you need a transfer. The surroundings provide the perfect setting for hiking, riding, or climbing territory; explore the Pioneertown Mountains and the Joshua Tree National Park.

Style & Character

A more perfect desert escape is hard to imagine. Set in 200 secluded acres, the 5000 sq. ft. property is surrounded by desert and tucked behind rocks; meaning it’s hidden from the prying eyes of the paparazzi. And even if they are not on your tail, the peace that the setting brings is quite something.

A peaceful, adult-only resort awaits, nestled in a desert setting, surrounded by giant weathered boulders, ancient junipers, Joshua trees, cacti, olive trees, and desert oaks.

Service & Facilities

The resort is exquisitely decorated throughout.! There are just six bedrooms, a pool, and a wonderful chef waiting to feed you! Outside is a huge garden area that begs to be filled with parties, a pool, and a large patio area with many places to sit and relax in the sunshine or shade. Take a stroll at night, the lighting makes the place seem just magical and the stars are incredible with such low light pollution in the area.

The owners ensure an extra personal touch. They are generous with check-in and check-out times, where possible, are ready with local recommendations and bookings, and will even assist with wedding planning should you wish to hold a special event at Starlight.

Lazing by the pool or relaxing with a glass of wine in the gardens is more than enough for some visitors here. But there is plenty to explore locally, too; hike or ride local public trails in the Pioneertown Mountains, and the Joshua Tree National Park is only 15 minutes away, an amazing area for rock climbing. For more civilization, the stylish city of Palm Springs is under an hour away and is packed with golf courses, spas, restaurants, and excellent shopping.

Rooms

With just six unique and luxurious rooms to choose from, you can be sure of a rather special and ultra-glamorous space in which to rest your head. They are all designed by internationally acclaimed designer and owner Chris Beaugrand, and the attention to detail is evident throughout.

As well as being simply gigantic, they all have their own private bathrooms with showers. There is a glamour and beauty to all of the rooms, and some have themes relevant to local or personal history, but my favorite room would have to be the master bedroom named Star; not only does it come with its own Jacuzzi, but it is beautifully decorated with stars throughout. It’s possible to rent the whole house if you stay with a group.

Food & Drink

The resort’s chef specializes in US and European cuisines, taking the best from each and adding an appropriate Southern flair. All ingredients are organic, natural, and sustainable; everything is prepared from scratch. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, and a barbecue is available on-site if you wish to self-cater. The infamous Pappy & Harriet’s live music and restaurant venue is minutes away, or for a more gourmet selection, downtown Palm Springs is just under an hour away.
