Book A Hotel

We review the 10 best Hyatt beach resorts in America. We focus on beachside hotels in this article in North America. Interestingly, Asia tends to offer the best value for beachside luxury, but with COVID-19, it is currently easier to stay closer to home, so we are only reviewing American Hyatt hotels in this article.

Our selection includes some of the best Hyatt hotels in Hawaii. If you collect World Of Hyatt points, then it’s worth knowing where you can best spend them for the perfect beach vacation. Our article also highlights the best beach hotels to earn these points.

If you have Globalist status, you automatically get free breakfast, but you don’t need to be a high-tier loyalty member to benefit from a free breakfast at many Hyatt’s and Park Hyatts. Our luxury travel concierge offers great free benefits, including breakfast, at Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Andaz, and Grand Hyatt hotels, so it is always worth getting a quote before making your final booking decision.

1. Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort

Two Hyatt hotels sit on the island of Maui. Andaz Maui can be found in the luxurious and peaceful Wailea Resort. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, which connects to the Hyatt Residence Club Maui, is located on Kāʻanapali Beach. While these are not the cheapest Hyatts Hawaii, they are two of the best, and the beaches they can be found next to are picture perfect!

The Andaz Maui sits in possibly the most luxurious resort area in Hawaii, Wailea, and is set on 15 beachfront acres. Treats on offer include farm-to-table dining, direct access to Mokapu Beach, and rooms boasting tropical views. Explore the exotic Polynesian culture and history of Maui during the resort luau experience, featuring an authentic ‘ohana-style meal and cocktails during the Feast at Mokapu. A highlight of this hotel are its Ocean View rooms that have incredible views looking right out onto the sea.

Andaz Maui is also located in the same resort area as the Four Seasons Maui, one of the best Four Seasons in Hawaii. Even if you are staying at the Andaz, you are welcome to spend evenings in the bar and restaurants at the Four Seasons Maui so you can try both properties out. Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in the Four Seasons Resort Maui is one of the best restaurants on the Hawaiian islands.

2. Hyatt Regency Maui Resort

While the Andaz Maui is a sophisticated option for couples and honeymooners, if you’re looking for action, nightlife, and cheap eats, the Kāʻanapali Beach area of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort may well be a better choice. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa offers fun for kids and families and is located right on the beach. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa also offers some of the best views of any of the Hyatt hotels in Hawaii with the Oceanfront rooms with Lanai.

Outdoors, an enticing seawater pool, overlooks the ocean, while the famous cabanas on the waterfront offer guests a moment of relaxation. The pool cabanas each boast sunbeds, towels, a pool as well as beach access, a private changing room, shower, toilet, and free Wi-Fi. Dedicated pool hosts offer care for each guest by serving refreshing amenities or lunch poolside.

3. Hyatt Regency Waikiki

None of the Waikiki Hyatt options sits right on the beach. All three are a short walk from the beach. The advantage of staying in Waikiki is that you have the two cheapest Hyatts in Hawaii here. The Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, so if you want to stay in Hawaii for the least points or the least $$$, these are your best two picks.

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki is not an outstanding Hyatt and sits amid the concrete jungle of Waikiki rather than the swaying palms of an isolated beach, but it is right in the center of the action, across the road from the beach, and offers a club lounge as well as rooms with great views.

4. Hyatt Centric South Beach

One of the first Hyatt Centric branded hotels is located just a block from the famously luxe Ocean Drive, Hyatt Centric South Beach is an economic Hyatt choice in a great location. The spacious hotel lobby on the 3rd floor is cool and airy and opens onto a Spanish-Mediterranean South Beach restaurant, serving locally sourced small plates and artisanal cocktails. Around the corner, the roof deck pool is the perfect place to cool down with a tropical sangria while basking in the sun in your cabana bed.

Downstairs, the hotel’s fitness center is open 24 hours, so even the earliest of risers can sweat it out before breakfast, and people in town for work will be pleased to discover that free Wi-Fi exists throughout the hotel, as does an intimate function space available for focus groups, meetings, and events.

The beach is just steps from the front door, so there’s is no excuse to pass up a nap on the sand. OK, this hotel is not right on the beach, but it does have its own beach service, including towels and chaise lounge chairs (included in your resort fee), which will make it difficult to peel yourself away from the sand.

5. Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa

Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa was ranked #6 in Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 15 Resorts in the Florida Keys: Readers’ Choice Awards 2021. This tranquil waterfront resort is a brilliant starting point for offbeat adventures in Key West. You can take a short stroll to the lively Duval Street and all the history and tropical charm of Old Town or grab a charter boat from the hotel’s dock. When you’re ready to kick back, check out Jala Spa or laze on the beach.

6. Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa

Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa offers a beachside escape in Florida that is steps from the Gulf and famous Pier 60. Watch a breathtaking sunset from the 8th-floor pool deck and catch a bite at SHOR American Seafood Grill.

7. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa sits on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Newly refurbished cabanas surround the pool at this oceanfront hotel. There are also outdoor wellness facilities, award-winning restaurants, family suites, and a Pacific Waters Spa. Soak up the sun while you laze or work from the beach.

8. Park Hyatt Chicago

Park Hyatt’s are right at the top end of the Hyatt chain. They tend to include Hyatt’s most luxurious properties, so I thought I would add a slightly crazy beach resort to my top 10 review. In the summer, Chicago, which has over 25 beaches along the shores of Lake Michigan, is perfect for a beach vacation. This Park Hyatt Chicago is situated on the Magnificent Mile, surrounded by shops, cafes, and museums. It reopens for Summer 2020 and offers an unusual and luxurious option for a beach vacation!

9. Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is a great option if you are looking for value near a beach. The hotel itself is stylish, with modern rooms that have plenty of space, a gym, and a decked pool area. It sits near shops and is an 8-minute walk from Waikiki Beach. It currently charges a daily resort fee, and rates start at around $200 USD per night plus the resort fee. The disadvantage of the hotel, other than being away from the beach, is that it is very difficult to redeem World of Hyatt points here. We checked a number of different dates up to a year in advance and could not redeem our points here.

10. Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach has stunning city views, a small pool area flanked with loungers, and free towels. Rooms have king-sized beds with an extended living area and a sofa bed ideal for families.

In terms of location, this Hyatt is slightly away from the main action of Waikiki towards Diamond Head. It is a short walk from the beach, a few blocks back, but most importantly, this is usually the cheapest Hyatt in Hawaii.
