Book A Stay

Four Seasons Bora Bora Resort offers overwater bungalow suites, beachfront villa estates, and underwater adventures on a private sand-fringed idyll in the shadow of Bora Bora’s Mount Otemanu.

Why We Love This Hotel

The private beach at this family-friendly Four Seasons is one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see, and the pool is also excellent and stunning. There is an incredible snorkeling lagoon. Again, you get the idea from the picture above. The clear turquoise waters are unbeatable.

Best Time To Visit

Bora Bora is best in November and April when it has sunny weather and temperatures in the mid-70s to mid-80s. The Bora Bora High season runs from May to October, when it can be more rainy and busy.

How To Get There

If you are flying in from the West Coast, you will likely fly in from LAX or San Francisco’s main airport into Tahiti and then on to Bora Bora on the 50-minute inter-island flight. Expect a James Bond-style collection by boat from the airport, complete with shell necklaces and a glass of water. It’s worth noting that the transfer costs about $250 round trip per person.

Location

Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Much like the Maldives, this destination is popular with honeymooners because of its picture-perfect sand framed islands and turquoise sea. The coral reef here makes it a top spot for scuba diving, and you can book dreamy overwater villas at most of the luxury resorts. The difference between the South Pacific and the Maldives is the elevation. The island’s centrally-located dormant volcano is 727m high.

Four Seasons sits on its own private area away from the other hotels in Bora Bora, giving it an utterly exclusive feel. The resort itself is huge, and you can call for fun golf buggies to collect you, or you can just walk to get around.

Style & Character

This “barefoot luxury” resort attracts a wide variety of clientele of varying ages as well as honeymooners. The style is traditional but ultraluxurious beach huts, but few are looking inwards. Instead, you look outwards at paradise. At the beach, the beautiful lagoon, and the dreamy pools.

Service & Facilities

The staff across all Four Seasons hotels are some of the best in the world. They bother to learn your name and are hard to beat.

The pool is large and flanked with luxurious wooden loungers and little shaded huts, and as we outlined above, the lagoon is a fabulous place to snorkel.

The Four Seasons spa is excellent, as are the tours and experiences like the private dinner sunset cruise.

Rooms

The rooms at Four Seasons are large, stunning, private, and quiet. They have wonderful mountain views. You can see the walkway leading to the overwater villas above. When choosing between rooms, it’s worth noting that the sunrise villa loses the sunshine from its veranda mid-afternoon, so it is worth booking the sunset villa.

There are also seven beachfront villas with two or three bedrooms ideal for families and larger groups. Plus, there is complimentary laundry! Yes really. Just wash your clothes in the washing machine next to the ice machine. They even provide complimentary detergent. So useful!

Food & Drink

The food at the Four Seasons is exceptional with wonderful seared tuna, steak, or lobster, plus an excellent sushi restaurant. The French restaurant and the beach seafood restaurant are both excellent, but you must also try room service in your overwater villa for a more private experience. Make sure you enjoy a cocktail at the magical Sunset Bar too.
