1. La Valette Club Lounge in Departures

The best and only airline departures lounge at Malta International Airport (MLA) is the third party La Valette Club Lounge in departures which is located Airside. It is actually a rather nice lounge and you will have access to this lounge if you are flying Business Class on British Airways, Alitalia, Air Malta, Emirates, EgyptAir, Libyan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and SAS.

You can also pay to access this lounge by buying a €35 EUR pass plus it is a Priority Pass and Lounge Pass lounge so you can get in with these passes which you may have for free with your credit card.

The lounge is quite small but is nice looking with chocolate and cream seating. It was refurbished 3 of 4 years ago and has its own style with specially made furnishings rather than just a bunch of seats much like some Priority Pass lounges, which almost feel like you are sitting at a gate with food! There are big windows on one side and a decent buffet. There’s also an outdoor terrace offering fantastic views. Seating is varied with cafe seats, sofas, bucket seats, and loungers. There’s also a small business area with 4 computers to use within the lounge.

The food includes pastries and pre-prepared sandwiches (egg and ham), veggies, whole fruit, bread, and slices of cake. Drinks are also plentiful with free spirits, 3 red and white wines, soft drinks, and a Lavazza coffee machine.

2. La Valette Club Lounge in Arrivals

After disembarkation, make the wait for your luggage seem shorter by treating yourself to the added comfort of the Arrivals lounge located in the baggage reclaim area. This is a Priority Pass lounge but not a British Airways lounge. There are light refreshments and the lounge has free Wi-Fi and a flight information monitor. It is worth using if you have the unlimited Priority Pass that comes with the American Express Platinum Card.
